The new nameplate, or “flag” of the Clear Creek Courant has been chosen! At the beginning of June, we gave readers the opportunity to vote on the Courant’s FROM THE new look, and what EDITOR you see at the top of your paper is the design that received the most votes. This flag will appear at the top of the Clear Creek Courant each week going forward. Thank you to everyone who voted! Kristen Fiore After Colorado Community Media changed our nameplates, we received many messages from people who were concerned that we had abandoned the historical feel of the Courant and had become just another cog in a corporate machine. These concerns were heard and taken seriously by me, CCM publisher Linda Shapley and our design team, which is why we came up with four new plate designs that incorporate the community’s history. After years of advocacy by area skate enthusiasts, the Idaho Springs City Council on June 26 unanimously approved the master plan that will guide the redesign of the eastern field at the Idaho Springs Sports Complex and bring a skate park to the community.
