Members of the Idaho Springs community joined Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity in a groundbreaking ceremony on Sept. 8 for eight new townhomes. Clear Creek County’s public works department is experiencing a staffing shortage that could affect snow removal this winter. During the peak snow removal season, the county averages 14 plow operators; right now it has eight employed. Public Works Division Director Karl Schell said this will likely create a slower response time when snow flies. “We may have a longer response time to get to some of the secondary roads,” Schell said. “We have been working on rerouting some of the snow routes that we do have, and we are really going to have to reel that in a bit, and work on all the primary roads and the bus routes first.” With that in mind, Schell encouraged residents to check out the county’s webpage on Winter
