A woman whose car hit and seriously injured two bicyclists on Rainbow Hill Road in the El Rancho area in June 2022 has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Haley Mill, 39, pled guilty to vehicular assault and assault in the first degree with extreme indifference on May 22. As a result of Mill’s guilty plea, the parties stipulated to a sentencing of between 10 and 20 years in prison, according to a release from the Jefferson County district attorney’s office. Chief Deputy District Attorney Tyra Forbes requested the maximum of 20 years in prison, noting the defendant’s extensive criminal record, her lack of regard for the community’s life and safety, and her leaving the scene and evading law enforce-
