Regent Report Happy Summer Regency 1 ACD Fellows! In this summer report, I wanted to share some information I recently received from our Executive Director, Mike Graham. When you review it, you will see the past six months have been incredibly productive at the ACD. The ACD is truly an active and vibrant organization. Here are some highlights that Mike provided about the College: * Distributed over 7,000 Ethics Handbooks so far in 2025 to dentists and dental students around the country, providing a key resource to ethical problem solving. * Held our first annual Spring Leadership Conference in 2025 to bring Section leaders together to improve our Section programming and administrative capabilities that will make the ACD Fellowship experience more enriching.
* Continued providing weekend leadership training to Fellows and non-Fellow dentists through the successful Shaping the Future (SHIFT) Leadership training program. * Advanced Online Leadership Training: The ACD Board has approved a one-year online leadership training program that will help the next generation of dentist leaders lead the profession. * Revamping the ACD Ethics Online Offerings to bring them up to date for dentists and students. * Dramatically increased the number of nominations to the College for 2025 to over 400 which will bring new excitement and engagement to the College. In early February 2025, the Regency 1 Leadership meeting was held in Boston, Massachusetts. Section leaders from the NE, NY and WNY Sections were in attendance. The National ACD President, Dr. Bob Faiella and the ACD Executive
Director, Mike Graham also participated. SPEA Leaders from SPEA Chapters in the Regency were also present representing UConn, Columbia, Tufts and BU. The photos included with my report are from our pre-Meeting dinner at the Harvard Club as well as the Meeting itself at the Seaport Hotel. This Spring I had the privilege to attend a SHIFT Leadership training and it was an enriching and engaging learning experience. I encourage all of you to consider participating in the program which is held at various locations throughout the year. Additionally, I was part of the inaugural Spring Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas. The Conference was a great success and allowed for an excellent interaction between current & past National leadership with the current, past & future leaders at the Section level. The enthusiasm and passion for the ACD was palpable as we reviewed and discussed in small group sessions: “Recognizing Excellence” (in Nominations), “Becoming a continued on page 2.
