The North wind brought us Ontario’s smoke for a mesquiteflavored start to Summer which was wild. Yes, the photos were real. Who would have thought that fires over 1,000 miles away could feel like they were so close. In a beautiful way it reminds us how it is all so connected, and that we as individuals are part of something organic and natural much bigger and tied together than we could ever imagine. After the smoky start, Summer has brought the heat, no doubt about it. The Stonefield clan has been getting our travel game on, that’s for sure. When it comes to natural and organic architecture and design, nothing compares to Antoni Gaudi’s work in Barcelona. It doesn’t even seem real and yet feels just right. For those that haven’t checked out Casa Mila shown above, referred to as La Pedrera or “the stone quarry” by the locals, we highly recommend it. And for those not planning a trip across the pond any time soon, well, just about any pond, lake, river, ocean or body of water will do the trick to lower that temp to help you kick back and enjoy Summer. TUNES Picture yourself on a sun-kissed beach, kicked back in a comfortable chair, feet buried in the warm sand, Corona in hand. Other than the sound of the waves, all you can hear is the sound of Bad Bunny. No, you’re not in Rockaway - you’re at St. Pete Beach in Tampa with a beautiful Latino man. An engineer in our eyes and a legend in our hearts. For the month of May, we left the Stonefield Mixtape safely in their hands, and they did not disappoint. The playlist runs for 73 minutes. That’s an hour and 13 minutes of nonstop Latin Bangers that can only be played at max volume. Mixtape 033 begins with Bad Bunny (obviously), Rema (duh), and Selena Gomez (of course). About 1/3 of the way through this playlist is when the sun begins to set. You get up out of your chair and begin to begin moving your feet to the music you’ve never heard in your life, yet you feel like you’ve heard this song a million times. After some time, the sun disappears over the horizon. Suddenly, you hear the lighting-fast beat of Daddy Yankee’s infamous ‘Gasolina’ and you know you’re in for one hell of a night. Before you know it, you’ve downed 8 Coronas and you have the courage to dance like you’ve never danced before. The second half of the playlist comes and goes and you’re left wanting more. Keeping things in the beautiful state of Florida. For the month of June, we created a playlist meant to be played outside on a sunny day. Mixtape 034 features a mix of southern rock and country with a fusion of indie-pop and hip-hop. Like somebody dribbling a basketball between their legs, this crowd-pleaser bounces back and forth between two seemingly different genres, yet sounds so cohesive. Who would have thought Rodney Atkins and Lupe Fiasco could be played back to back wihtout causing a riot? To paint a picture of what this playlist sounds like, imagine Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen playing in a doubles match of tennis against Post Malone and AJR, but neither team loses. The result is a harmonious match where both teams come out on top. It’s almost like this mixtape manages to ease the tension between southern and northern music. Where was this when the US needed it in the 1860’s? Anyways, we’re so happy with the way this one turned out. It’s still got our heads in the clouds after such a wonderful playlist.

SS23 - The New standard This season, Team Sierra designed a variety of items to spruce up your summer wardrobe. After a decade of requests for a Stonefield polo, Iman broke down and finaly agreed. Team Sierra was then challenged to design a polo that would stand out amongst all the pitiful golf polos in this industry. Our approach included sourcing a completely different cut of polo that we then screen printed the word “Stonefield” in an arch across the diaphragm and center of the back. Modesty was at the front of our minds when designing the t-shirt pictured below. The word “Stonefield” across the chest was embroidered with the same color thread as the shirt itself; giving it a ghosted look - thus the name “Ghost Tee” was born. We wanted to complete the look by designing a pair of crew socks that stand out even when your legs are covered. An “S” in our favorite shape - a circle, is embroidered on the ankle. For our Stonefield softball team, we designed some professional-quality jerseys to keep our players looking good on the field. An extremely limited piece that is currently only available to players. Much like the unifroms worn by athletes, our intention with the SS23 drop was to give our employees an identity while still achieving the “uniform” look resulting in “The New Standard.” Team Sierra promises to keep you on your toes all year round with even more surpirses before 2024. As always, we appreciate your continued support in helping us to raise the bar here at Stonefield. Without you guys repping “Stonefield” the word would mean nothing.

princeton orientation & Traffic Axe-Throwing Fueled by alcohol on the first day that the Canadian wildfire smoke cleared out enough for us to go outside again, Princeton hosted their yearly ‘summer-camp-themed’ orientation. Stonefielders gathered in the park for a slew of activities including sack races, relays, volleyball, flip-cup, kickball, tug-of-war, and everybody’s favorite: the watermelon eating contest where we watched in horror as the winner did unspeakable things to a full-sized watermelon. The day was packed full of activities that ended the only way the Princeton office knows how: with an absurd amount of pizza over at the infamous ‘Contes.’ We can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store for us in 2024. In case you missed this event, Princeton will also be hosting a golf outing on August 25th! Princeton wasn’t the only place to have fun this summer. The traffic department went out to ‘Bury the Hatchet’ for an axe throwing event for some games of their own. The traffic members were split into 4 teams and faced off in the shootout of a lifetime. There were a lot of close games. Three teams were tied for first when it came down to the championship game. In the final face-off it came down to the final throw. With their back against the wall, they were able to hit the tiny pink target that granted the thrower an automatic win and the veteran axe slinger, was bested by the rookie.
volunteer events The Salem office recently opted into the Traffic Island Beautification Program. This sponsorship allows them to design and maintain the landscaping of their assigned traffic island in the downtown area. For their respective orientation, a few members of the office spent their afternoon clearing the island of debris and weeds and planted all new flowers. It seems like the efforts of Team Paris this past Earth Day has had a lasting effect on the rest of Stonefield. As a part of a continued effort to maintain the places we frequent, the Princeton office partnered with the Monmouth County Park System to put on a beach cleanup event in Highlands, NJ. Stonefielders spent their morning cleaning up trash that otherwise could have potentially harmed the plants and animals we share the beach with. Our efforts were rewarded by beating the heat the only way we knew how - with some ice cold Modelo’s in the sun. Stonefield plans to take on more beach cleanup events in the near future, so keep your eye out for more opportunities to come together, serve our local communities, and have a great time doing it.
