TALK

TUNES Ah, yes; the mixtapes. As we continue to grow as one, we share our experiences and perspectives through music. Whether in the office cranking out plans in CAD, going for a run outside, or jamming at Stonefield Orientation, you can always rely on the Stonefield Mixtape Series to keep you going. Since the Spring 2021 Newsletter, we've worked with NKC Design on Mixtape 009; the sounds of a Central Park picnic. We have also gone back to school with a curation from the Princeton office on Mixtape 010. Oh, and who can forget our latest feature from none other than our NYC office. It is a wonderfully chaotic mix of songs that mimic the persona of a taxi driver who doesn't quite know where they're going. Fans and followers of the series can look forward to physical copies of the mixtapes in the near future. There is nothing quite like the world you enter when listening to an album and being able to hold the visual representation of its sound in your hands. We believe the analog feel of physical music has been lost over the years, and we are here to bring that sentiment back. Keep an eye out for future announcements on the Stonefield Intranet page to learn how you can get your hands on a copy. If there are any requests for specific mixtapes in any particular format, please let us know and we will try to make it happen. We are approaching the 1-year anniversary of the series, and to celebrate, we are switching things up. Don't be alarmed, the mixtapes won't stop anytime soon. We do plan on trying out some new ideas though. Maybe even feature some of Stonefield's very own musicians!

Thank you to our contestants, the celebrity panel, our judge and tech crew, and all the spectators of Stonefield’s first game show night. We successfully brought back a blast from the past - Match Game and kicked off Summer Orientation right! Summer is officially here and honestly, what is better than that?! To add to that we are returning to our Stonefield offices and the vibe, the energy; it's hard to put into words, but it just feels good. We sped up our process to follow-up our Spring newsletter with a timely installment of Summer because we want to keep the momentum rolling. We’ve got more Orientations to enjoy together and the Summer Party will punctuate the end of summer. In the meantime, soak up those rays, get nice and abbronzata as they say in the Italian Riviera, and flip on the Tokyo Olympiad. The Games always bring endless entertainment and remind us of the beauty and strength of human beings striving to be at our very best. The goodwill and fellowship generated by competitions like this unifies us all.

ETERNAL WEALTH

Eternal Wealth LLC is a design-build enterprise started in January 2020 by two graduates of the formidable Wayne Valley High School. With a background in art and design, and a background in finance and woodworking, there’s few projects they can’t execute. At the moment, their focus is on live-edge slab furniture, CNC-routing wood and aluminum, art fabrication, and branding & identity. In the past they’ve constructed the interior of Soldato Books, cut lettering for Whole Foods, branded the new Italian eatery Fiorentini on Park Ave, built the outdoor parklet for Suprema, designed and printed merch for Soldato, and many other projects of various shapes and sizes. In the end their mission is to bring soul back to the countless soulless settings, and to reveal the intrinsic but forgotten beauty that was left behind for convenience and disposability. Eternal Wealth aims to rectify this aesthetic and spiritual negligence with a worship of what is good and a celebration of what is necessary for the body, mind, and soul.

DISTRACTIONS

It's easy to lose track of time in The Nest. With events like concerts, Orientation, and various parties being held there in addition to the wrestling mat, rock climbing wall, and weights, it can be easy to find yourself distracted. However, we encourage it. Need to blow off some steam? Go knock the punching bag around a little. Feeling inspired after watching a Barcelona match? Go shoot some goals and pretend you're Messi. Feeling curious? Wander through and find yourself in awe at the variety of strange objects lying around.

TEAMS Life could not possibly exist if it weren't for both positive and negative space. Structures, much like the ones we help to develop include this sort of polarity of give and take. The positive space is comprised of things like the foundation of a building, the walls, the ceiling, and the ground surrounding the structure. But what is the negative space? The negative space is not simply the air that fills the rooms separated by walls and cielings. The negative space is where we work, play, create, develop, grow, fail, and succeed. These are all activities we practice when filling the negative space wthin Stonefield. Represented by Classic Italian Arches are the teams that make up Stonefield. As previously stated, the circle is the quintessential shape to all of life. In this representation, the circle allows the arch to have functional strength to bear its workload and withstand the teams it lifts above it. The individual arches shown can be filled with team members who will help continue to grow Stonfield. The empty halls created by these archways represent the availability to expand. Expansion can be filling that hallway with new team members, business expansions, or anything we feel could benefit the world we strive to change. Together, we stand as one endless revolution of positive and negative; always coming full circle.

TEAMS An organization like Stonefield may lack a certain orderliness, perhaps even seem untidy compared to a rigid, structured clear-cut monolith. That’s because Stonefield consists of numerous, autonomous teams that act as quasi-firms. Each team with a large amount of freedom, to give the greatest possible chance to creativity and entrepreneurship. The structure can be symbolized by a person holding a large number of balloons in her hand. Each of these balloons has its own buoyancy and lift, and the person does not lord it over the balloons, but stands beneath them, yet holding all the strings firmly in her hand. Every balloon not only project-focused but also an entrepreneurial unit. We all rise and fall together.

FAST COMPANY It's no secret that we, here at Stonefield believe in replacing yourself. It's become our manifesto. This belief has translated itself into a career-long mission. When the opportunity arose to submit our mission in the form of a visual campaign to Fast Company; one of the world's leaders in forward-thinking in all industries, we jumped on it. While we are still awaiting results, it was a massive accomplishment to finally be able to transcribe that mission into the form of a new campaign we aim to use to change the way people think and treat space. This campaign is aimed to replace parking. Yes, we’re not afraid to make one large portion of our company obsolete because we believe it could be the solution to a lot of the world's problems. While this method likely won't be widely adopted by the world anytime soon, we still push to change the way people think and treat space. The content built around this mission is aimed to bring back the essence of life that has long been forgotten. Recreation - the Latin term to: "re-create." We have so much parking in this world, why not replace it all and see what happens? Through a pro-bono effort by various members of the team, we have studied almost 40 apartment buildings in the state of NJ to show that the large majority of parking spaces in parking garages aren’t used at all. Spaces that could be shops, restaurants, habitable apartment units, classrooms, green space and the list goes on and on. We found that many of these parking spaces are completely empty day after day, week after week and continue to disconnect our communities creating largely un-walkable un-sustainable neighborhoods. With the help of a NJ assemblyman, we have submitted this data to the State of NJ to lower parking requirements significantly and change the mindset lawmakers, Board members, and the public think about the “need” for parking. What project are you passionate about? Email us with any ideas you have and he will help bring them to life. This is just the first of many submissions to Fast Company magazine. Let’s make this an annual Stonefield tradition!

merch STORE It's getting spicy out there folks. A bit too spicy to wear hoodies and beanies that is. Just when you thought your wardrobe couldn't get any better, we decided to introduce the Stonefield Summer drop. This season, we're featuring a short sleeve shirt, and back by popular demand; a tank. This is not an excuse for spaghetti armed men to flex, but we do encourage everybody to wear these and beat the heat Stonefield-style.
