We are excited to be back in north-central Kansas, and it is with great pleasure to be having our inaugural Kansas bull sale with Hanels. They have been successfully selling bulls privately for decades and will sell bulls at public auction for the first time in 2019. We are pleased with the timing and opportunity to sell bulls in the same sale.
For the past decade it’s been a passion of mine to get back to NCK, run cattle in the Smoky Hills, and market bulls at auction the same way my Grandpa Don, Uncle Myron, and dad (Bruce) did. Through their guidance, I learned how to put out a quality bull that commercial cattlemen would favor.
This past year had many firsts. Lindsay and I welcomed our daughter, Whitley, to our home state of Kansas and the family ground where she will be a 5th to 7th generation caretaker of the land. Brock and I had numerous conversations for the past 12 months on how we could offer a Black and White Sale and make it the best we could. New relationships were forged with backgrounders and feedlots that want to feed your Charolais cross calves.
But some things are not “firsts,” nor have they changed. Over the past 20 years, CCC has been extremely aggressive with embryo transfer and AI’ing to the top sires. This has allowed us to make a very consistent and high-quality cowherd. There’s a good chance that if our bull isn’t an ET calf himself, his mother likely is.
We promise that every bull we offer provides value, and we will stand behind that 100 percent. We have several customers every year give us a budget, tell us what they’re looking for, and we haven’t had any fall-out yet.
We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to be back “home,” at our roots and look forward to building new relationships — as well as growing our existing ones. Please consider us as a source for growthy, complete, problem-free bulls and as an outlet to help you market your progressive Charolais cross calves.

A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE: SUCCESS

masculine clean head, squares up with as much shape and power behind his blades as I’ve seen in a yearling and transitions it into a massive hip and quarter. 8113 is bold and expansive in his heart while having an ideal tailhead and hip design. He posses the power and performance we come to expect from Milestone, but 1140 was able to make the calving ease and birthweight EPDs more user-friendly. We plan to use this bull heavy out of the gates on our Resource daughters. Due to weather and timing we weren’t able to get him pictured for the catalog. I encourage y’all to study his video and schedule-allowing, we will get a picture put on the Cody Cattle Co. Facebook page.
RETAINING 1/2 SEMEN INTEREST AND SPRING WALKING RIGHTS.
With an eye to the future of selling rugged, performance-driven, and powerful bulls, 803 is in our sights. We’ve certainly bred cleaner-fronted, sexier bulls, but we have never had a bull that better meets the demands of commercial cattlemen. With his over-the-top performance, dimension and width throughout, on a solid and square foundation, we look forward to the mark he will leave on our herd. 803 is out of a top-end, no-miss cow with a beautiful udder. She is the granddam of the $27,000 half-interest Major Impact sire, as well as the dam of the $24,000 half-interest heifer for the Field family. Field’s heifer was Champion at Tulsa State Fair and Reserve Champion at the State Fair of Texas. 803 was the highest ratio weaning spring bull at 126, as well as scanning over an 18-inch

Major Impact’s first calf crop didn’t disappoint, and Impactful is a good representation of this. He is a square, hard-footed calf who is dark pigmented and offers a quality look. 819’s dam was our pick of the M&M bred heifers at their dispersal. He is as complete of a bull as any with his carcass measurements. Weaning ratio: 108.

His beautiful first-calf heifer dam did a great job getting him to weaning with a ratio of 109. This bull grows on me everyday. I wish I knew this was how he was going to mature and I’d had him in Denver on display. Fault-free bull on hoof as well as paper.

Unless otherwise noted, all the breeding age bulls will have passed a breeding soundness exam prior to pick up/delivery. In addition to the standard Terms and Conditions of the American Simmental Association and the American International Charolais Association we will provide the first breeding season (the 90-day period immediately following turn out) guarantee on all yearling and older bulls. This guarantee is not an insurance or mortality policy, but a guarantee on functional fertility. It is not a substitute or replacement for poor management. Buyer assumes all risks for injury due to running bulls together or management decisions outside genetic control. For the guarantee to apply, we ask that you contact us as soon as a condition is observed and before the animal is sold. We will work with you to determine whether the animal is returned or sold for slaughter. We will attempt to provide a suitable replacement. If one cannot be provided of equal or greater value, we will issue a sale credit to be used in a future sale for the full purchase price less the salvage value of the animal.

can’t say enough about the cow family this bull derives from. Each and every one of these cows has been retained in our cow herd. Love their feet and legs and the ideal udder shape and milk.

Age Advantage Bull. This bull settles in the top 20 percent of the breed for weaning weight and the top 30 percent in yearling weight. His weaning wt ratio is 110 and yearling weight ratio is 108. His dam is the renowned VooDoo 6017. 6017 herself is a highly decorated female in the show ring being named 2013-2014 show female of the year. Her females are top performers in the Shaffer herd that are good uddered heavy milking cows. His sire SHF Rehab has left his mark in the Shaffer Cow herd, proving himself time after time in the calving pen and weaning pen.
Age Advantage Bull. Looking for a herd sire that will add performance, disposition and a great pedigree? This is your bull. With a TSI of 221.63 he ranks in the top 8% of the breed. Top 7% for both weaning weight and yearling weight. SHF Rehab certainly clicked with this M6 New Standard daughter. His grand dam 0526 has made a lasting impact in our cow herd. Her many descendants are proven producers with a quiet disposition that translates into their offspring. Retaining 50% semen interest.
Age Advantage Bull. This is the youngest bull in his contemporary group, yet his 11 year old GridMaker dam certainly did her job. He ranks in the top 20% of the breed in TSI and WW and the top 15% for YW. Look for him to increase your weaning weights on your next crop of calves.
