2022: Let’s pray we put the pandemic, drought, and fires are behind us. The past two years have certainly presented most producers some challenges, but this year is looking up. Feeder and fat cattle are gaining momentum, kill cattle are high, and there certainly isn’t enough supply to meet the ever-growing demand for quality protein.
I remember my Grandpa Don telling me that one of the most important decisions a cattleman or woman can make is to buy the bull that fits the needs of their operation. I feel that our bulls will offer the calving ease, performance, dispositions, and carcass credentials producers desire. Every year we have more and more producers retaining ownership in their calf crop and are selling them on a grid.
The only thing I’m more proud of than my white cattle is my beautiful family. We are blessed to be working with family every day and have multiple generations contributing at Grandpa Don and Grandma Hazel’s headquarters, where they started their Charolais business in 1956. My wife, Lindsay, steers the ship and my brother, Mason and future brother-in-law, Colby, make sure it isn’t taking on water. Along with our kids, Whitley, Rance, LaRae, Lindsay and I are extremely thankful for the help and support we get from our team and family to continue ranching another generation.
We are confident in this year’s offering of sale bulls. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out, and we encourage you to stop by ahead of the sale to take a look at the sale bulls. With our sale partners at Hanel’s Black Simmentals, we’ll offer a steak lunch prior to the sale. Plan to join us for that; and if you come in early, check out the new brewery in Courtland (Irrigation Ales) or Heartland Gamebirds for a guided pheasant hunt.

L TO R: 1015, 1043, 1019, 1027

We’ve always loved Blue Value’s ability to produce fault-free females, but his bulls always seemed a little weaker until they were 18 months old. We feel Ad Astra’s sons will be more rev’ed up and ready to work as yearlings. Ad Astra’s incredible, heavy milking, first-calf heifer mama not only raised him up to a 1003 lb. AWW, but laid down and had a Mescalito bull calf 286 days later. 1027’s build, mass, performance, and bred-in maternal potency has us confident in his ability to truly leave an impact on the breed. Homozygous Polled Retaining 1/2 semen interest and choice of spring or fall possession.

REFERENCE DAM • 9010, PICTURED 18 HOURS AFTER CALVING
Woofta—balance, quality, structure and squareness doesn’t typically come with this much power and punch. 1017 is an elite prospect backed by proven generators. His full sister was a high seller this past November going to the Meyers family in Kansas and last year one of our high-selling bulls, and his full brother, Red Kingdom, was purchased by Full Circle. Use with confidence, we plan to. Homozygous Polled Retaining 1/2 semen interest

1015 is another full brother to Red Kingdom and 1009 (our highselling female in November.) He was on a poor recip, came off a hundred pounds lighter and never caught up, but stayed even with the other studs. His fault-free build, presence, and genetic makeup made him hard to leave home. Homozygous Polled Retaining 1/3 semen interest. REFERENCE DAM •

CCC MESCALITO 9038 P
It’s been seven years since I’ve been as fired up about a bull as I am about Mescalito! After seeing how his bulls grew and scanned and how his daughters are developing, we knew we had to try and buy him back.
We would like to thank Carmen and his crew at High Bluff Stock Farm in Manitoba for allowing us to buy back spring walking rights on Mescalito. Look for a heavier influence of Mescalito sons in the future, as we will be walking him in the spring and fall both.

1019 is out of a no-miss Beneli- Ledger that has generated front-end replacement heifers and 2 consecutive pen bulls. Last year’s son, Clyde the Glide, was purchased by Full Circle Cattle Co. 1019 is one of the big reasons why we are so excited about Mescalito. Natural width, dimension, performance and quality in one package. Homozygous Polled Retaining 1/3 semen interest.

1043 is the result of the 2017 National Champion, P-Fuzz, and our 2020 high seller, Mescalito. Rep Co. got all the goods from both of his parents. Regardless of your breeding plans, this bull has the potential to help along the way. Bold bodied, big assed, and good looking with a large scrotum. Homozygous Polled Retaining 1/3 semen interest.

CCC WC RESOURCE 417 P The old man continues to crank out the kind that are in demand. Few white bulls have consistently offered the the marbling, mass, and eye appeal he has. We will continue to use him, his sons, and full brothers for years to come.

Morgan Meisenheimer, the photographer who pictures most of our bulls, wouldn’t quit clicking on this bull. I don’t blame her; Eisenhower is as high quality and good looking of a bull that we’ve offered since Redemption. His proven donor dam has multiple daughters we’ve retained and sons that we’ve sold as purebred herd bulls to Harvies in Canada (semen now being offered by Semex), and Hebberts in Nebraska purchased Probity last year. Those would be 3/4 sibs. When you combine that, with him being better than breed average on 12 of 13 traits and top 2 in marbling, the guess work is done.

1034

This guy would go a long way on a set of more traditional bigger cows that need to be more efficient in their build. 1119’s EPD profile, performance ratios, and carcass data is why Resource has been so influential on our herd and the breed for so long. 1119 was our high-scoring IMF bull at 5.18.

BW

Back in 2016 when I saw Milestone as a yearling, just a year after Resource, I felt that those 2 bulls complimented and completed each other as well as any other sires I’d seen. We’ve had very good luck integrating and blending those 2 sires and 1007 would be a reason why we continue to do so. A touch of 7M on the dam side doesn’t hurt.

He has bred in longevity; his 12-year-old dam laid down and had her 11th calf this January. If they were all like her this would be easy. In 2019, Nathan Lindberg purchased a full brother to 1079. This bull grew to an 827 AWW and is balanced across the board.

1018 is as powerful, robust, and opened up as we have to offer. We were tired of seeing white cattle without shape and width, so we went old school and opened 1018 and his full brother wide open.

If this bull was smooth polled, he’d be worth a mint. He does everything right on hoof and on paper. 1038 is above-breed average in every catagory, and top 25% in CE, maternal, scrotal, and marbling, while being in top 10% or better in WW, YW, MCE, and TSI. If a person can get past his scurs, he will be a steal.

An attractive, easy doing, heifer approved option here. 1010 offers a 72
BW and is in 10% for CE and BW. He’s backed by a very promising Redemption dam.

CCC RESURGENCE 803 P Resurgence was one of our high sellers in the 2019 bull sale due to his incredible performance and build. He stamped his calves with denser features and added pounds. Since 95% of all cattle are sold by the pound, he fits the bill quiet well.

CCC MILES AHEAD 8113 P ET
Miles Ahead is a bull that has had a heavy influence on our herd the past several years. He does a tremendous job of making his daughters look lady-like and his sons look like masculine men. His sons will add scrotal, quality, muscle and value.

1059 is backed by 655, an incredibly productive full sister to Redemption. Her first daughter was shown successfully by Makayla Houck of Iowa, and her next calf was our 2021 high-selling bull, Mahomes, going to Rennert Ranch in Nebraska. The guess work is done on 1059. If you like them square built, smooth made with extra belly and scrotal, give Lark a look. Retaining 1/3 semen interest.
I like looking at this bull. He’s impressive from every angle with having the good looks from his mama and the pop from his daddy. If you want to make your neighbors jealous, take 1114 home.

52 CCC MILES 1118 P

We did something silly this fall and sold 1118’s dam, a full sister to Resource, to the Dybdal and McDowell families. Selling her is a decision that I’m regretting as 1118 got sick on us a calf and fell behind ‘til weaning—since then he has hit high gear and continues to impress. A very complete, fault free prospect.

The Cody Cattle Co. Collegiate Scholarship Program was developed as a way to give back to the Charolais and beef industries. We believe that one of the best ways we can give back is through supporting youth in their continuing education efforts.

One $1,000 dollar scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating high school senior or current college student for the upcoming academic year. Due the caliber of applicants in the inaugural year, CCC presented two additional scholarships in the amount of $500 each during the Black and White Bull Sale.

There are men, and then there is THE man. 0564 would be the latter. He has a 21-inch ribeye, 902 AWW, and is tickling a ton now. He does this while being extremely attractive and balanced. Retaining 1/3 semen interest.

This bull has been a favorite since birth. He’s always had the presence and build of a herd bull. We sold half of his dam, 7750, to Derek Martin of western KS. 0575 would be a 3/4 sib in blood to Mescalito. Retaining 1/3 semen interest. 57

Those Blue Values just grow on a guy as they mature, and 0521 keeps getting better. Combine this with his impressive scan data (a 19-inch eye and 4.23 IMF) and his performance—good bull.

On picture day, I couldn’t decide which full sib to picture and 0515 was the first one in so that’s the one we did. He and 0514 are peas in a pod: good built, hard footed, and have extra growth.

When I did this mating, I was hoping for a heifer. Instead we are offering a

Unless otherwise noted, all the breeding age bulls will have passed a breeding soundness exam prior to pick up/delivery. In addition to the standard Terms and Conditions of the American Simmental Association and the American International Charolais Association we will provide the first breeding season (the 90-day period immediately following turn out) guarantee on all yearling and older bulls. This guarantee is not an insurance or mortality policy, but a guarantee on functional fertility. It is not a substitute or replacement for poor management. Buyer assumes all risks for injury due to running bulls together or management decisions outside genetic control. For the guarantee to apply, we ask that you contact us as soon as a condition is observed and before the animal is sold. We will work with you to determine whether the animal is returned or sold for slaughter. We will attempt to provide a suitable replacement. If one cannot be provided of equal or greater value, we will issue a sale credit to be used in a future sale for the full purchase price less the salvage value of the animal.
