When I need a quick mental break, I head straight to my happy place—where soft, sugar-white sand warms my feet and clear turquoise waters sing with delight. The air carries the scent of the sea, my hand wraps around a cold, frosty Bushwacker dripping condensation onto my towel, while waves and chirping gulls create a meditation melody. This happy place is home, our Emerald Coast. Tucked just below Alabama on Florida’s panhandle, it’s a true luxury destination with a character all its own.
This historical stretch of land is also the ideal location for weddings. With mild weather in the 70s and 80s for most of the year, outdoor venues are highly sought after. The landscape has a little bit of everything, minus the mountains. From rural, rustic settings beneath hundred-year-old oaks, to charming homes on the bay, to lively, walkable pockets in the heart of downtown, you’ll find a venue that fits your vision.
What also sets this destination apart from others is pricing. There is such a great range that truly any type of wedding budget can be accommodated. Yes, I’m saying even if you only have $10K you can still afford a wedding here. And on the other end of the spectrum, a $250K celebration feels like having the world at your feet. Simply put: your money goes further on the Emerald Coast.
Supporting these celebrations is a talented community of wedding professionals—world-class creatives known for their skill, southern hospitality, and genuine passion for their craft.
As the region continues to grow, it has become an increasingly popular destination wedding hub. Travel is remarkably simple thanks to four international airports, each within about 45 minutes of another, making the journey easy and comfortable for guests.
The Emerald Coast truly is the jewel of the south—loved, cherished, and defined by the peaceful, restorative beauty that draws people back again and again.

I firmly believe that hiring a planner to manage your wedding is a must. All of your favorite people in the world are celebrating you and your future spouse, and the last thing that any of you need to be doing is managing timelines, moving florals, or cleaning up the reception. This is a day of celebrating, so let yourself and your family and friends have the freedom to live in the moment! The best memories are often small, unexpected moments—moments that might be missed if your mom has to finish the decor or your sister has to run out to pick up the cake.
A wedding has more moving pieces than you might initially think. Anyone can set a room up with food and decorations and move on, right? Not quite. Everything about the room changes the second the wedding starts. The chairs, the decor, the energy, the vibes—all of it. Have someone in the room whose entire job is to be ahead of that shift.
There are different levels of wedding planning. Let’s chat about them.

This is for the couple that a) loves a wedding but does not have a desire to plan it, b) needs an expert in their corner to help them navigate this new experience, c) is limited with time or lives out of town from the wedding location. A Full Service planner will share vendor recommendations, keep a tally of the budget, attend vendor planning meetings with you, build a solid and detailed wedding timeline, and hold your hand as little or as much as needed.
This is for the couple that has some experience in the realm of weddings or is very detail and task oriented. For Month-Of planning, the wedding planner will take over where the couple has left off and advise on what still needs to be done. The vendors are booked, deposits are made, the fine details are nearing completion, and all that’s left is the timeline tweaking and execution of the day-of.
This is not a widely offered service. Instead, many planners offer “month of” or “week of” packages because so many details can change leading up to the big day. This planning option is to execute your perfectly laid out plans. Day-Of planners serve as the point of contact for the wedding day and manage the vendors, the timeline, and the flow of the event.
No matter what wedding planning package you choose, communication is key. Feel empowered to have conversations about roles and expectations so that all of the bases are covered and no details are left out!
So this is my plea, give your parents, your auntie, your grandma, your sister & your maid of honor a break! Let them live in the moment and celebrate, and hire someone outside of friends and family to support your wedding. You (and them) won’t regret it!

There are many layers involved that make that perfect peony a reality on your wedding day. Behind the scenes are long hours of creating in real time. While local farm-grown flowers are always a favorite and add to the richness of each arrangement, the reality is many flowers have to be imported to keep up with volume and demand. We try to educate our clients on seasonal availability, which is different in every region. What holds up in the summer in Florida is very different from what will hold up in Michigan.
We want the time of year and your location to set the tone for the florals that we choose. We are always asking for an inspirational Pinterest board, mostly for style and color palette, so we can choose the right flower for durability and market availability required for successful life span of a flower.
It pains me to see dance floor photos with wilted flowers on the tables because the selection wasn’t working. Hydrangeas, for example, can wilt when it’s too hot outside. In this case, we would choose to make a gorgeous arrangement in complimenting colors of market-available flowers and pop in a few faux hydrangeas. This way our arrangements hold up for the entire day into the late night hours.
Many hours are also spent conditioning the flowers when they arrive. We start working on flowers 5-6 days before the event to ensure the quality that is expected when paying for a luxury item with an elevated design. Your florist should be helping you make the choices that work best for your vision. Flowers that are in season support a stronger stem and better color variations, and they are readily available for shipping. This helps to make the arrangements more artistic, while reducing the footprint and creating a more responsible and sensible outcome. We are curating a palette of blooms that work together harmoniously, while being one of a kind.
My advice is, if you have your heart set on a specific flower, talk to your local florist and base your wedding date on that flower’s season. Otherwise, there are amazing substitutions! Our job is to make your day beautiful and seamless with the beauty of the flowers.

Weddings are no longer just events; they’ve become fully designed experiences with a cohesive visual identity. The guest experience begins with the invitations and continues through the wedding weekend, right down to the last ‘thank you’ note sent post honeymoon. Stationers take the unique elements of a couple’s love story and translate them into a curated intentional experience that celebrates the couple. Couples are moving away from templated purchased design suites and instead moving toward details that feel deeply personal and story-driven.
So now the real question is, how do you translate your love story to your wedding? This is where I come in! Stationers specialize in curating a wedding that is authentic, personal, and experiential. A wedding that will immerse your guests in an unforgettable love story. If you are suddenly overwhelmed, don’t worry! Take a deep breath and let’s plan this out together.
First, write down your story. Include every detail you can think of: where you met, how you felt when you first saw each other, what attracted them to you, etc. Then, move into shared hobbies, places you love to go, pets, and how your relationship feels.
Next, brain dump 10-20 words that describe your love story! Note your desired wedding season, colors you love, wedding party, and translate that into your vision. If you’re a mood board girly, go ahead and make one! Now, ask your fiance to do the same! This part is so valuable because you can identify the things you both share a love for in your life, which should absolutely be included in your wedding! If you both are obsessed with the beach, consider an airy and coastal feel for your wedding. If you both love to hike, maybe a more earthtone, botanical, or organic feel is appropriate. Start talking through styles and unique elements that represent your love story and what makes you, you.
Second, choose your venue and wedding planner! Yes, I’m a stationer telling you to book your venue and your wedding planner first. Seems backwards? It’s not, and here’s why. You need to know your aesthetic and what you want your wedding to feel like first. People are visual and you want your venue to feel like home, somewhere that has character, charm, and is a place you would frequent. This will naturally help you decide on a color palette, tone, and guest list.

Third, once you’ve nailed that all down, it’s time to find your stationer. I like to think of wedding stationers as a fairy godmother. Your stationery designer takes your story and translates it into a tangible, visual experience. While it’s possible to DIY your own invitations, hiring a stationer saves hours of design work and printing. They also deliver a professional, cohesive story where every detail feels intentional, carefully crafted, and connected.
You want your guests to have that beautiful reveal moment when they open the save-the-date or invitation. It’s their first glimpse of your wedding, and first impressions are everything! Color palette, paper texture, and invitation design creates a sensory experience that helps guests feel a part of your story. This creates a sense of belonging before the wedding even starts. Setting expectations for the weekend is also important, and I’ve found that the more details you can include in the invitation suite, the better.
“You want your guests to have that beautiful reveal moment... This creates a sense of belonging before the wedding even starts.”
You have a beautiful opportunity to have your love story define your wedding, and how we work together will make the experience feel intentional and seamless. The art and calligraphy on the invitation suite can also be incorporated in bridesmaid and groomsmen gifts, day-of ‘getting ready’ bags, the wedding website, savethe-dates, welcome signs, ceremony backdrop, reserved chair signs, custom vow books, table numbers, seating chart, menus, wedding favors, coasters, the back of the getaway car, and the thank you notes! Your guests will notice the thoughtful design that beautifully communicates intentionality and love.
Beyond all the practical details listed above, wedding stationery will become your first family heirloom. Beautiful memories are made at weddings, and guests will cherish the favors and keepsakes they take home. The process of working with a stationer helps you pause and reflect on your story to create something that becomes a meaningful celebration of your love story. Your wedding should feel like you, like coming home.

I’m Dr. Adrianna Simeone, one of the doctors at Fishbein Orthodontics. I recently moved to the area and I still find myself waking up every day a little in awe of the sugar-white sand, the Gulf views, and the kind of effortless beauty that makes this stretch of coast so special. It’s the perfect backdrop for life’s biggest moments… especially saying “I do.”
From barefoot ceremonies to sunset celebrations, weddings in the Florida Panhandle are nothing short of magical. And while the setting may be picture-perfect, every bride and groom deserves to feel just as confident, starting with a smile they love.
If you’ve ever wondered whether achieving your dream smile takes too much time or comes with a hefty price tag, think again.
“At the end of the day, your wedding is all about feeling like the best version of yourself.”
Our team at Fishbein Orthodontics offers personalized treatment plans that fit seamlessly into the lives of busy couples. The average Invisalign treatment can take as little as 6 to 18 months, making it a realistic option for many engagements, while still delivering beautifully subtle results. For those on a tighter timeline, professional Zoom Whitening offers a noticeably brighter smile in just one hour—perfect for the final countdown to “I do.”
At the end of the day, your wedding is all about feeling like the best version of yourself—and your smile plays a bigger role in that than most people realize. As an orthodontist, I love giving my patients that extra boost of confidence right before they walk down the aisle. It’s fun, it’s transformative, and honestly, it’s one of my favorite parts of the job— because a great smile doesn’t just show up in photos, it shows up in every moment.

BY WAYNE PEACOCK,
There is something special about the season right after “I do.” You are dreaming bigger, planning ahead, and building a life together. Along with the honeymoon photos, thank-you notes, and shared calendars comes a question many couples begin to ask: should you buy your first home now?
For many newlyweds, the idea feels exciting and intimidating all at once. Buying a home is one of the biggest financial and emotional decisions you make together. It is not just about choosing a pretty house with a good kitchen and enough closet space. It is about building a foundation for your future. That is why the process matters.
As a real estate professional, I believe your first home purchase should feel clear, supported, and strategic. You deserve more than a rushed tour and a stack of paperwork. You deserve a guide who helps you understand the path, avoid costly mistakes, and move forward with confidence. When I work with first-time buyers, I keep the journey centered around three things: your mission, your math, and your move plan.
Before you ever schedule a showing, you need to understand why you are buying. A lot of couples start by scrolling listings and saving homes with magazine-worthy finishes. That part is fun, and it should be. But the stronger first step is talking through your mission as a couple. What do you want this home to do for your life right now?
Maybe you want the stability that comes from owning instead of renting. Maybe you want a guest room for visiting family, a yard for your dog, or a home office for a new chapter in your career. Maybe you are planning for children in the future. Maybe you are relocating and want a place that feels steady in the middle of change.

“Your first home should not feel like a mystery. It should feel like a plan.”
Your mission becomes your filter. It keeps you grounded and helps shape every choice that follows, from the neighborhoods you consider to the features that matter most. Without that clarity, it is easy to get distracted by cosmetic details and overlook whether a home truly supports your goals. A beautiful home is wonderful. A home that aligns with your life is better.
This is the part that many first-time buyers fear, but it is one of the most empowering pieces of the process when handled the right way. The goal is not simply to learn what you can qualify for. The goal is to understand what fits your real life comfortably. Those are not always the same number. A lender may approve you for more than you actually want to spend each month. That is why I encourage buyers to look beyond the maximum and think about the full picture. You still want room in your budget for travel, savings, home updates, furniture, emergencies, and life after the closing table.
That is where smart planning comes in. I walk buyers through the financial side in a way that feels practical and manageable. We talk about monthly payment comfort, expected cash to close, up-front costs, and what financial goals matter most in the next few years. When you understand the numbers early, you shop with more confidence and less stress.
For some newlyweds, one of the biggest obstacles is not income or readiness. It is the challenge of pulling together enough money for the down payment and closing costs while planning a wedding, merging households, or starting married life. That is why programs like HomeFundIt through Reliance can be worth exploring. HomeFundIt gives eligible buyers a way to raise funds toward homeownership through gift contributions from family and friends. For many couples, it can serve as a meaningful alternative or addition to a traditional wedding registry. Instead of receiving only household items, loved ones have the opportunity to contribute toward a goal that can shape your future in a lasting way. For couples who are ready to buy but need help bridging the gap, this kind of program can turn encouragement from family and friends into real support.
Once your mission is clear and your numbers make sense, it is time to build the move plan. This is the roadmap that takes you from “we think we are ready” to “we have the keys.” A strong move plan includes getting connected with the right lender, securing a solid pre-approval, narrowing your search areas, identifying your timeline, and understanding the steps between offer and closing. It also means preparing for everything buyers do not always expect, like inspections, insurance, appraisal, negotiations, and the timing of cash to close. This is where having a hands-on process makes all the difference. My role is to keep you informed, proactive, and protected at every stage. I believe first-time buyers deserve education, not pressure. You should know what is happening, what comes next, and what your options are before you are asked to make a big decision. That matters because home buying moves fast. When you are prepared, you make stronger decisions. When you understand the process, you are less likely to feel overwhelmed. When you have a guide who stays close to the details, you can focus on the excitement of what comes next instead of getting stuck in the stress.
One of the biggest misconceptions first-time buyers have is this: your first home has to be perfect. It does not. Your first home does not need to check every box for every future version of your life. It simply needs to fit this season well. It should serve your goals, support your budget, and make sense for the next chapter you are building together.
For some couples, that may be a townhome in a great location. For others, it may be a starter home with room to grow over time. The smartest first purchase is often not the flashiest one. It is the one that creates stability, helps you begin building equity, and gives you options for the future. The pressure to find “the one” can make buyers hesitate too long or overreach financially. I always remind couples that the goal is not perfection. The goal is alignment.
“A smooth purchase is rarely luck. It is usually the result of a strong plan and clear guidance.”
Buying a home together is about more than real estate. It is one of the first major decisions you make as a team. The right home should support your life together, not create unnecessary stress. It should be a place where routines begin, traditions form, and everyday life starts to feel like yours. Morning coffee in your own kitchen. Hosting friends for the first time. Choosing paint colors. Laughing over half-open boxes and trying to remember which one has the coffee maker. That is the real beauty of homeownership. It is not just the property itself. It is what life begins to look like inside it. When couples understand their goals, know their numbers, and follow a clear process, they are far more likely to experience the purchase as a meaningful milestone rather than a chaotic scramble. That is exactly how it should feel.
A wedding marks the start of a new chapter. For many couples, buying a first home becomes part of that same story. It is not just about square footage, interest rates, or a perfect backsplash. It is about creating a future with intention. With the right guidance, a clear financial plan, and tools that help make ownership more accessible, your first home may be closer than you think. The goal is not just to buy a house. The goal is to step into your next season with confidence, clarity, and a place that truly feels like home.

You’ve been scrolling through Pinterest and researching designers to try to find the perfect dress. You find some you love, some that interest you, and plenty more that are definitely not your style. Hours and hours are spent online trying to answer the question: “What am I going to wear to my wedding?!” Which is totally a fair question! This is your wedding day, not just another event you need a dress for. This is the dress you will talk about for decades after your wedding, the dress you may pass down as a family heirloom, and the dress that took your breath away the first day you put it on. The anticipation and eagerness to find the perfect gown for your wedding day can feel overwhelming, but the dress shopping experience can be easy and fun! To help guide you through this process, I have answered some of the most common questions about wedding dress shopping!
While other articles and op-ed’s will break down the exact silhouette or fabric that each body type “should” wear, that’s not what you’re going to find here. There is no hard and fast rule to prescribe certain cuts of dresses to specific body architectures. Finding your dress is 1% about your body architecture and 99% about how you feel in the dress! You truly won’t know what silhouette you prefer until you begin trying the gowns on your frame. So, to answer the question, what’s best for your body type is anything, everything, and especially a dress with details that you absolutely love!
Come prepared in the way that feels best! Wedding dresses typically have bust cups sewn into them, so you don’t need to worry about having a specific bra for the appointment. Wear grandma’s pearls as something borrowed, grab fun shoes, bring shapewear if you want, style your hair how you like it best, and come with a vision for your wedding day!
“What’s best for your body type is anything, everything, and especially a dress with details you absolutely love!”

DO I HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO ORDER A DRESS?
There are two ways to purchase a wedding dress: special order a new dress in your size/color, or buy it out of the collection at the boutique. There are benefits to both options! If you have 8 months or more until your wedding date, ordering your gown may be the way you want to go! If you have less than 5 months until your wedding, you may want to consider purchasing a gown out of the boutique’s collection, saving time and money!
HOW MANY APPOINTMENTS SHOULD I BOOK?
Shopping for your wedding dress is an experience that should be both memorable and positive! For this reason, I recommend researching bridal boutiques and selecting a bridal store that you connect with, that has a variety of designs, and that doesn’t have rules or restrictions for their guests. Be mindful of these two truths when planning your dress shopping: (1) dress fatigue is real and the dresses will start to blur together after too many; (2) all you need is one dress, and it’s okay to keep the shopping simple.
“Shopping for your wedding dress is an experience that should be both memorable and positive!”
WILL I CRY IF IT’S THE ONE?
Saying yes to the dress looks different for every bride. While some brides may burst into tears the very first time in their dress, others may want to accessorize, analyze, and then ultimately share the confident and sure feeling that this is their dress. Your ‘yes’ moment may reflect your personality, and it will be as unique and beautiful as you are! I encourage you to not put too much pressure on yourself, and instead enjoy the journey of discovering what dress you feel the absolute best in. You’ve got this!

Picture it, you found the one person that you’re ready to do life with. You’ve said yes to the dress but there’s just one problem, it doesn’t fit!
Let me be the first to tell you, this is completely normal. The majority of the time alterations will be necessary to achieve the best look and feel for your special day.
I’m here to answer your most common questions regarding wedding gown alterations, ease your mind about fit issues, and make sure you’re prepared for your alterations appointment. So let’s talk about the most common fit issues and how to fix them!
First things first, are you wearing your wedding shoes when trying on your gown? Shoes can make a big difference and sometimes shoes can be the difference from your gown being too long or it being the perfect length. For this reason, always remember to bring your shoes to every alteration fitting. If your gown is still too long while wearing your shoes, that means you need a hem. That’s when your seamstress will shorten the front of your gown, tapering the sides while leaving the back of your gown, including your train, the same length. Once this alteration has been made, the front will be floor length. You will no longer be stepping on your gown and will not need to hold your dress up when you walk, ensuring your comfort and safety as you walk down the aisle!
Oh, the elusive bustle. By definition, a wedding dress bustle is a sewing alteration that lifts and secures the train of a gown usually with hooks, buttons, or ribbons. This alteration transforms a long train into a manageable length for the reception, allowing the bride to walk, mingle, and dance safely! If you are planning to wear your wedding gown for the duration of your wedding and reception, a bustle is necessary. If you choose to change into a reception gown, it’s more likely that a bustle is not necessary. A common misconception is that the hanger loop located on the underside of your gown is a bustle. This, in fact, is only used to hang your train when on the hanger.

If your gown is too big, then you need to have it taken in. Whether it’s your bust, waist, or skirt, taking in your gown is an alteration that your seamstress will be able to do for you! Generally, pins are used to measure how much your gown needs to be taken in for the perfect fit. For strapless gowns, you will need a more snug fit than a gown with straps or sleeves.
This can be a scary feeling, but rest assured, your bridal seamstress has seen this fit issue many times! The solution can be a number of things. If there is sufficient seam allowance inside of your gown, then it may be able to be let out. If there is not enough seam allowance to do this, then fabric panels may also be added to provide the additional inches you’ll need for the proper fit. But in my experience, the best way to fix this issue is to add a corset back! Corsets add a romantic back detail to your gown, while also giving flexibility to sizing that no other option can provide. This means that if your measurements fluctuate up or down, your gown will still fit properly. This is especially beneficial to brides who are expecting.
You will need to bring your gown, your shoes or a shoe with the exact same heel height, and your undergarments if you choose to wear any. Many times your wedding gown will be designed with enough support that no additional shapewear is needed.
This depends on many factors including your wedding date, your seamstress’s schedule, and the complexity of your specific alterations. If special order materials and fabrics are needed, delivery time will also play a factor.
Bridal gown alterations are an important step in your wedding process. I hope that this information will empower you to move along your journey with the confidence and peace of mind that every bride deserves!

Jessica & Mike Duncan reveal the everyday habits, honest conversations, and small choices that have kept their marriage strong
JESSICA: He came walking up at a party I was at. He was mad that there was a party going on at his house while he was at work. And he walked up and I said, “Who is that? He will be mine.” He didn’t see me that day, though.
MIKE: I saw her several times because she hung out with an older crowd. She always caught my eye, but I knew she was really young. I kind of tried to steer away from her. But, it was some kind of animal magnetism, I tell you. We couldn’t be left in a room alone because we felt like we were going to attack each other.
JESSICA: In a good way. There was definitely a connection right away, and it wasn’t verbal. It was like we could just look at each other and know what each other was thinking.
MIKE: I was not looking for love and then after I met her, she was the one person I couldn’t live without.
JESSICA: I knew I was in love with him on our very first date. When we had our first kiss at the end of the night, I was shaking. I just knew I was in love with him.
JESSICA: I definitely think my favorite memory of our relationship was one of our trips. It was the Grand Canyon for our 20 year anniversary. We did four days of camping off the beaten path. We got to see parts nobody ever gets to see. We got to hike down and swim in the Colorado River and lay down at night and see the Milky Way. It was amazing.
MIKE: I was going to say the same thing. We were on a big plateau and I didn’t know how many thousands of feet up we were, but she wanted to do it. We hiked all the way down to the Colorado River and jumped in. But, the fact that she just didn’t even think about it and wanted to do it, I was like, “Okay here we go.” That was awesome.

WHEN DID YOU GET MARRIED, AND WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE WEDDING?
JESSICA: In 2000. My favorite part…we made it more about us. We tried as much as possible to not make it about everyone else, which is really hard to do when you’re planning a wedding. Where we got married and the songs we chose were just very unique. It was definitely us.
MIKE: Yeah, that was pretty awesome. Do you remember when they announced that we were married? There was a tiger cage right behind us. I threw my hand up in the air, and the tiger roared right when that happened. Everybody laughed.
IF YOU COULD GIVE YOUR MARRIAGE A SLOGAN, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
JESSICA: Better together.
MIKE: Yeah, I like that.
JESSICA: Or the one we put on the inside of our rings. “You complete me.”

WHAT IS YOUR #1 TIP FOR A SUCCESSFUL AND LOVING MARRIAGE?
JESSICA: It takes more than love.
MIKE: And lust. That’s fleeting.
JESSICA: You have to have the same morals and values and goals and want the same things out of life. But I think the number one thing is realizing it’s you two against the world, not you two against each other. That’s hard. I think for us it helped because right after we got married, we moved away and we didn’t know anyone. So it was us two against the world.
MIKE: It’s not the one you want to live with. It’s the one you can’t live without.
WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST STRENGTH?
MIKE: I think our communication. We tell each other everything. We don’t go to sleep mad. We always iron it out and hash it out before the day is over.
JESSICA: We had to work really hard at it though. In the beginning, we did not have great communication. We learned when we first got together that it’s really important to talk about the issues. Actually talk about what the issue is and make that what you talk about versus attacking each other. The things you say when you’re mad, you can never take back.
CAN YOU DESCRIBE A SIGNIFICANT MOMENT THAT STRENGTHENED YOUR MARRIAGE?
JESSICA: In 2003, I went to a conference and they had these Zig Ziglar CDs, Courtship After Marriage. We weren’t necessarily having problems, but I just thought it was great. Over the years, we probably listened to it 5 or 6 different times even if we weren’t having problems. It taught us a lot about communication and how to have disagreements. I think that really set the stage for us to have a wonderful marriage. We both saw it as marriage is something you work on. It’s the hardest relationship of your life but also the most important. Just like you go to the gym to work on your body or you go to school for education, you have to also continuously work on your marriage.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK FORWARD TO TOGETHER?
JESSICA: More time on the boat with Mike on the water.
MIKE: And the mountains out west.
JESSICA: More adventure and more travel!

From New York to Paris, runway shows are demonstrating the exciting shift toward architectural precision in women’s fashion. Bridal fashion is no different, as designers are favoring dramatic tailoring such as defined basque waistlines and sculptural draping. This season’s collections prove that the modern bride is embracing sharp, powerful silhouettes that command attention.

Groom’s fashion is breaking tradition and moving beyond the classic black tuxedo. No longer is the groom’s attire just an accessory to the statement bridal fashion we see—they are a critical part of the wedding aesthetic. Modern suits are intentionally incorporating unexpected details. Grooms have many options for self-expression and can elevate their ensemble by experimenting with textured fabrics, striking colors, playful prints, and statement pieces!

Forget accessories being an afterthought. The question is no longer if an accessory will be worn, but which bold, character-driven piece will be paired with the attire. Renowned wedding designers like Galia Lahav are celebrating vintage headpieces, colorful veils, and even bolo ties, proving that personality lives in the details. 2026/2027 brides and grooms are following suit, using accessories to add drama and an editorial edge.

Rich colors are a vehicle for personality, and after several seasons dominated by minimalism and neutral palettes, weddings today are seeing the confident return of color. Couples are readily and intentionally using expressive hues to prioritize and craft the mood. If you’re looking to add a pop of color in your wedding, consider colors that evoke emotion in your relationship or celebrate your wedding destination.
From bouquets to centerpieces, florals have reached a new level of artistry that shapes the wedding visual narrative. Traditional round bouquets are now asymmetrical and cascading, highlighting movement and negative space. Matching flowers are spread throughout the venue in lavish ceremony arches, suspended installations, and dramatic table arrangements.

The persistent presence of edible details in design is a defining hallmark of a broader design movement—anything has the potential to be a decor piece. The core philsophy is that if an item is present at the wedding, it should contribute to the overall aesthetic.
Silver is experiencing a powerful revival, overtaking gold as the go-to metallic in wedding design. The beauty of silver lies in its versatility, pairing well with a wide spectrum of colors. Whether in tablescapes or ceremony backdrops, its clean lines and reflective surface brings a cool-toned glamour with modern edge.

Rigid traditions are out, and prioritizing emotional resonance is in. Modern weddings are being designed to tell a story. Questions like “What represents us as a couple?” makes the wedding feel unmistakably yours. For example, stationery and signage can incorporate personal symbols and elements drawn from the couple’s life. From story-driven experiences to sentimental details, couples are becoming more and more intentional.

Classic cars carry with them a sense of timeless beauty and enduring romance. They are more than polished chrome and graceful lines— they embody stories of elegance, adventure, and style. When woven into your wedding day, these vintage treasures become more than transportation; they transform into living symbols of your love story.
These iconic cars are not simply back drops—they are characters in your story, enhancing the atmosphere of your celebration and elevating every moment they touch. From the first glance at the car waiting outside to the lasting impression of your grand departure, they bring sophistication and artistry to your day in a way nothing else can.
Let us walk you through the art of posing with classic cars. Whether you are a bride, groom, wedding planner or venue, you’ll discover how to make the most of these vintage beauties—capturing images that are not only striking but also deeply meaningful.
Preparation begins well before the wedding day. Sharing details about your selected vehicle with your photographer allows them to plan compositions, lighting, and angles in advance. Discuss specific moments you would like captured, such as ‘Your Arrival,’ ‘Post-ceremony portraits,’ and ‘The Grand Getaway.’ When your photographer understands the importance of the car, they can intentionally incorporate it into your timeline, ensuring you have dedicated time for these meaningful images.

TELL YOUR LOVE STORY: Lean gracefully against its polished side, settle into the backseat for an intimate moment, or let your fiance open the door for you like a scene from a film.
THE CAR AS A PROP: Sit, lean, or step into the scene—let the car feel like part of your story. Share a toast in the backseat or capture your grooms hand on the steering wheel.
ROMANTIC DETAILS: Arrange your dress to flow dramatically out of the car for a sweeping, cinematic effect. A tree-lined drive, historic architecture, or an open countryside road sets the perfect stage.
HIGHLIGHT LITTLE THINGS: Capture ribbons tied to the bumper, the bouquet draped across the hood, or your reflection in the shining chrome. Schedule your car photos for that magical hour before sunset.
Whether standing tall beside a gleaming Cadillac, laughing with bridesmaids through open windows, or driving away in a Packard with “Just Married” trailing behind, your photographs will reflect not just your wedding day—but a story worth retelling for generations.

Honeymoons are entering a new era. Couples are moving away from one-size-fits-all trips and instead designing experiences that rethink not only where they go, but how they travel. Some couples are opting for “minimoons,” a shorter trip immediately following the wedding, followed by a longer, more immersive honeymoon months later. Others are planning multi-stop itineraries that combine relaxation with exploration. Another growing trend is shoulder season travel, with couples choosing to travel just outside of peak times. The result is fewer crowds, better availability, and often more favorable pricing without sacrificing the overall experience. Across all styles of travel, one theme is clear: experience matters just as much as destination.
All-inclusive resorts remain a popular choice, but couples are increasingly drawn to more elevated interpretations of the concept. Well-known brands like Sandals Resorts continue to lead in the Caribbean with a focus on adults-only, romantic experiences, while major hospitality groups such as Hilton, Hyatt, and Marriott have expanded their all-inclusive offerings in Mexico and beyond. Today’s travelers are seeking refined environments, strong culinary programs, wellness-focused amenities, and upgraded accommodations such as swim-up suites and private plunge pools. The appeal is still simplicity, but with a more personalized feel.
European honeymoons are evolving, with many couples embracing a slower, more immersive approach. Rather than trying to visit multiple countries in a short time, couples are choosing to spend longer in one or two destinations, focusing on local culture, cuisine, and atmosphere. River cruising has become an increasingly popular way to experience Europe in this way. Instead of traveling to each destination, couples sail through it, waking up in a new city or village each day along rivers like the Rhine or Danube. It offers a seamless way to explore multiple destinations while unpacking only once. Whether by land or river, the emphasis is on connection to the destination and to each other.

Destinations like Costa Rica continue to rise in popularity, offering a compelling balance of adventure and luxury. Couples are drawn to the ability to create a layered experience—moving between rainforest landscapes, volcanic regions, and coastal retreats. Days might include guided wildlife excursions, zip-lining through the jungle, or exploring natural hot springs, followed by time to unwind at a high-end resort along the beach. It is a style of travel that blends activity with relaxation in a way that feels both energizing and restorative.
There is also a growing trend toward bucket list honeymoons—trips that feel truly once-in-alifetime. African safaris, overwater bungalows in French Polynesia, and thoughtfully designed multidestination itineraries are becoming increasingly popular. These experiences often require more detailed planning, but the result is a honeymoon that feels deeply personal and unforgettable.
Cruising is evolving, with many couples seeking more intimate and immersive alternatives to traditional large ships. Lines like Windstar Cruises and Seabourn Cruise Line offer yacht-style experiences with fewer guests, elevated service, and a more relaxed pace. These smaller vessels can access unique ports and destinations, creating a journey that feels more connected to each location. In destinations like Tahiti, some sailings feature a marina-style platform that allows guests to step directly into the water.

“The difference between a stressful wedding and a seamless one often comes down to how well the travel is planned.”

From coordinating guest accommodations to planning a honeymoon that reflects your style, thoughtful travel planning plays a key role in creating a seamless and memorable celebration. Weddings today are no longer just a single-day event—they have become full experiences that extend from the moment guests arrive to the trip couples take after. As celebrations grow more intentional, so does the role travel plays in bringing everything together seamlessly. Where guests stay, how they move between events, and how seamlessly everything flows has become an essential part of the experience.
This is where working with a travel advisor can make a meaningful difference. While booking a hotel may seem straightforward, weddings introduce a level of coordination that can quickly become overwhelming— especially in high-demand coastal markets like Pensacola and Destin. A travel advisor works directly with hotels to secure room blocks at preferred properties, negotiate competitive rates and favorable terms, and provide guests with a clear and streamlined booking process. Transportation is another key component. From arranging shuttle services between hotels and venues to helping plan transportation for additional events throughout the weekend, thoughtful coordination ensures guests can move easily and comfortably. This level of support removes a considerable burden from both couples and wedding planners, reducing last-minute questions and allowing everyone to stay focused on the celebration itself.
12-9 Months Prior:
Best availability, pricing, and options, especially for Europe, cruises, and bucket list trips.
9-6 Months Prior:
Ideal timeframe for most honeymoons with strong availability and flexibility.
6-3 Months Prior:
Great options still available, though choices may be more limited.
3 Months Prior:
Flexibility becomes key as options begin to narrow.

There is something unforgettable about the moment you say yes, not just because of the ring, but because you have chosen your person, and they have chosen you. How lucky are you to have found the person you will spend forever with?
This moment often comes with a whirlwind of emotions, as does the time that follows, what many call “the engaged era.” Your engagement is not just the moment you say yes; it is a season. It is a chapter in your life, not just a stepping stone to your wedding day.
It happens in a moment. The question, the pause, and then the yes. Maybe it is followed by laughter, happy tears, or a quiet thought: “Is this really happening?” Before long, phones are in hand, calls are being made, and the people you love most are sharing in your excitement. Suddenly, you are surrounded by celebration. Not long after, the planning begins.
I remember the moment I said “yes” and immediately stepped into that season. It was one of the happiest times of my life, yet it flew by far too quickly.
Looking back, I realize how easy it was to get caught up in the tiny details that, on my wedding day, did not really matter.
My hope for you is that you do not just step into your engaged era. I hope you fully immerse yourself in it. Along the way, there are so many moments to look forward to: engagement parties, bridal showers, bachelor and bachelorette celebrations, dress shopping (and that unforgettable second “yes”), venue tours, and food tastings. This season invites couples to make meaningful decisions together, learning how to communicate, compromise, and support one another. It is often the first real glimpse into what building a life together looks like.
In between those big moments are the quiet ones. The unexpected “this is really happening” moments. Late-night conversations, shared ideas, and dreaming about the future. These are the in-between memories that often matter the most.
At the same time, the reality is that this season can be stressful.
Decision fatigue is real, and if you have not experienced it before, you likely will during your engagement. There are endless choices and a constant pressure to get everything “just right.” Couples often find themselves navigating outside opinions, family dynamics, expectations, and traditions. Choosing who stands beside you, while managing emotions and expectations, is not always easy. Add in timelines, vendors, and events, and it can quickly feel overwhelming.
It is also important to remember that the people around you often care deeply about your happiness. Friends and family may ask questions and offer input because they want this experience to be special. For some, those same dynamics can feel overwhelming or even heavy. Many of the most stressful moments in wedding planning, whether supportive or not, are rooted in strong emotions and expectations. One of the most important things you can do is protect your peace, set boundaries when needed, and allow yourself to receive support from those who truly show up for you.
It is common to feel excited, overwhelmed, and everything in between. Somewhere along the way, this season can start to feel more like a checklist than a meaningful chapter. In that shift, it is easy to lose sight of what matters most. Being present.
SIX GENTLE REMINDERS:
1. “Perfect” is often the enemy of present
2. This season is about your relationship, not just your wedding day
3. Your wedding does not need to impress anyone; it is meant to reflect you and your partner
4. It is okay to step away and take a break from planning
5. You are already living one of the most meaningful chapters of your life
6. You only get this version of your story once. Be in it!

When you take the pressure off perfection, something shifts. You begin to actually experience your engagement instead of managing it. Since I was in your shoes not too long ago, I do not want to leave you feeling overwhelmed. Here are a few simple ways to stay present during your engaged era.
SIX
1. Schedule a monthly “no wedding talk” date night
2. Pause during big moments and take it in
3. Celebrate small wins along the way
4. Move your body to manage stress
5. Limit comparison and social media pressure
6. Protect unstructured, “do nothing” time
I truly enjoyed my engaged era. Although it had its stressful moments, it was also one of the happiest times of my life. I was surrounded by people who loved and supported me. Yes, I remember the seating chart, the small decorative details, and constantly reminding my fiancé about the registry. What stands out even more are the moments that mattered most.
I remember the first time we walked into our venue. It took our breath away. The late nights filled with laughter, imagining all the things that could happen. Creating our wedding playlist on drives to the beach. Those are the moments that stayed with me.
Looking back, I do wish I had slowed down just a little more. I wish I had been more present instead of focused on the small details that did not truly matter in the end.
Be present. Laugh more. Stress less.
The wedding will come and go, but your engaged era is a chapter you will never get back. Do not forget to live in it!

Coastal love stories and their wedding day details

8, 2025

Bryn & Clay met in Nashville, Tennessee in the summer of 2022. Two years later, Clay proposed at the Cheekwood Estate & Gardens. They got married November 8, 2025 at the Coastal Art Center in Orange Beach, AL. Bryn’s favorite part of their wedding day was surprising Clay with Cafe Beignet as the late night bite, and Clay’s favorite part was the dance floor! Together, they made a conscious effort to add in special touches including a family love story wall of the past weddings in their families.

FEBRUARY 29, 2026

Matt & Jasmine’s story is one of how love can defeat all, including the friend zone. They met where all great Pensacola love stories start—Seville Quarter watching an FSU game. Though it was a short conversation, it made a lasting impression on Matt. Matt had a crush, and he would hold onto it for years to come. Through those few years of “just friends,” Jasmine and Matt got a lot closer. Jasmine trusted Matt with a “secret” that she was moving to Austin and hadn’t told anyone yet. Just before her big move, the feelings were mutual. About 9 months later, Matt moved to Austin to be with her and Frankie (the cat), and the rest is history!

NOVEMBER 14, 2025

Morgan and Eric had a mutual friend and had been following each other on social media for quite some time before they finally connected in November 2018. From the very beginning, they felt an undeniable connection and quickly became inseparable. They knew they wanted to build a life together, but they took the time to truly get to know each other and navigate life side by side before saying “I do.” They tied the knot in November 2025 and are excited to share many more years of love and adventure together.

MARCH 28, 2026

Matt and Stephen have spent the past five years building a relationship of love, care, trust and a kind of comfort that feels effortless. Over time, what started as a long distance connection grew into something steady and enduring—shaped by shared experiences and the kind of support that shows up both in big moments and in the quiet, everyday ones. In March 2026, they chose to celebrate that journey in a way that felt most authentic to them: a small, intimate wedding in Florida, surrounded by their closest family. Their big day was more than a ceremony; it was a reflection of the life they’ve already created and the future they’re continuing to shape.

NOVEMBER 7, 2025

Paige and Brian met through Facebook after Brian realized that they had both worked in the same ER together for almost ten years, yet somehow never crossed paths. Their first date was getting margaritas—still their go-to—and it didn’t take long to realize things just worked between them. Days before their wedding, Paige and Brian spent quality time with their wedding party at Bella Villa Estate. Then, their wedding weekend kicked off with a welcome party on the water, steel drummers playing, and dolphins jumping past. Keeping everything light hearted, Paige and Brian made custom “Hooked for Life” trucker hats as a nod to their love of fishing, and they had a live caricature artist at the reception. One of their favorite bands, Fly by Radio, played and kept the dance floor full all night. A memorable moment was their first dance—an acoustic Aaron Lewis song sung by Brian’s brother. They ended the night the same way they like to spend their time together—on the water with a boat exit.

1, 2025

Ryan and Rylee’s wedding day was the beautiful continuation of a story that began years ago as high school sweethearts. What started in their teenage years grew into a deep love and commitment to one another. Surrounded by family and friends at Supposey Warehouse & Gardens, their day was filled with heartfelt worship, meaningful vows, and a celebration that reflected the faith and foundation their relationship is built upon. From quiet moments of prayer to the joy that filled the air as they were pronounced husband and wife, every part of the day pointed to the importance of faith in their story.

OCTOBER 20, 2025

Rachel and Hector met in Pensacola in 2022 while both were on active duty in the U.S. Navy. The two met by chance during a night out with friends. What started as a simple introduction quickly grew into a lasting bond—one that led them to say “I do” in October 2025. Their wedding took place at The Barn at Magnolia Mae Farms in Jay, Florida—a stunning, all-white rustic venue built by Rachel’s parents in 2024. Keeping the day deeply personal, Rachel and Hector chose to make their wedding a family-centered celebration. From the home-cooked meal prepared by Rachel’s grandmother and aunt, to photography by her aunt, to a ceremony officiated by her brother, nearly every detail was created with love by those closest to them. Currently residing on the East Coast, Rachel and Hector will soon relocate to their next duty station, continuing their journey together in service and marriage.

JUNE 7, 2025

McCabe and Emily met in Orlando and moved to Pensacola shortly after. Mac proposed to Emily on a scenic lookout atop an Arizona mountain. They got married a year later in downtown Pensacola surrounded by their family and friends in full southern style. Mac’s favorite parts of their wedding were Emily walking down the aisle to ‘Across the Stars’ and the second line parade. Emily’s favorite parts were the live violin, and the dinner from Restaurant Nola (beignets and all).

MARCH 28, 2026

Jen & Josh’s story began while working together at Pensacola Country Club, where they started as friendly work acquaintances before quickly developing an undeniable connection. When it came time to plan their own wedding, there was never a question about where it would be held—the setting of their love story at Pensacola Country Club. As an event planner and sentimental girl at heart, Jennifer focused on incorporating their Asian roots, their love of food and family, and meaningful details throughout the celebration. They were married on March 28th—which also happened to be the bride’s birthday! Their story is proof that sometimes the most meaningful love stories are built quietly through everyday moments, shared dreams, and finding the right person to stand beside through it all.

MARCH 14, 2026

Sara Fe’ & Will met in high school through their mutual love of lacrosse. College moved them in opposite directions but eventually landed them both at the University of Florida. Life, law school, and fight school kept them busy for many years until Will proposed with his grandmother’s wedding ring on the cliffs of Ireland. They celebrated among their family, friends, and their puppy, Goose, along the water at the Pensacola Yacht Club—a special place for Sara Fe’ since she grew up sailing there. While they both serve many miles apart in the United States Navy, their love story continues on.

I want you to keep that excited feeling all throughout the planning process, so I’ve created the below list to keep those stressed feelings at bay. Just trust the process, and enjoy this time because you will be saying “I do” before you know it! Don’t let the timing on this guide intimidate you. This schedule can be stretched out or expedited to meet your needs. Now, let’s plan your wedding!
DETERMINE YOUR BUDGET
Once you know what you want to spend, you can determine what’s most important to you. Assigning percentages of your budget based on priorities will help you decide what to spend in each category.
START YOUR VISION BOARD
This step doesn’t need to be complicated. Just start a shared Pinterest board with your fiance and start throwing on anything that speaks to you. The vision will start to become clear, so have fun with it!
HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER
If it makes sense for your budget, find a planner that you connect with. They will help you get a more realistic feel for what vendors charge. They can also help you pull together a cohesive design from your Pinterest board! If you don’t want to go with a planner, ask one of your recently married friends out to lunch so you can pick their brain about their experience!
MAKE A GUEST LIST
Once you know how many people you can invite, then you can find the perfect location to accommodate your numbers.
TOUR VENUES
Take into account what rentals are included, which have exclusive vendor lists, and how many guests each can accommodate. Pay special attention to things like parking, general accessibility and bathroom locations.
CHOOSE YOUR VIBES
Have a conversation with your fiance about what is really important to you. What do you want this day to feel like? How does this impact your budget and which venue checks these boxes?
BOOK YOUR VENUE
Yay! You’ve got your venue, so let’s start finding your vendors!
BUY WEDDING INSURANCE
Make sure you are purchasing insurance at the level required by your venue.
BOOK YOUR CATERER/BAR
Ask for pricing information (pay special attention to service fees and gratuity), read reviews and book tastings when you can! Caterers get booked quickly, so the sooner the better!
BOOK YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER & VIDEOGRAPHER
Ask them for full galleries so you can see how they photograph in different lighting situations. Also consider timing limits, travel fees and what’s included in their packages. Remember that this person will be with you almost all day, so make sure your personalities jive too!
BOOK YOUR FLORIST & RENTALS
Knowing what you are willing to spend is helpful, but if you don’t know your floral/rental budget, your vendor can give you what I call the “full fantasy” option. Then you can work together to get it where it needs to be. If you need to book a tent/tables/chairs for your wedding, be sure to consider those too. You may also need to bring in a lighting or sound designer, based on your venue so keep that in mind, too!
BOOK YOUR ENTERTAINMENT
Ask your planner and other vendors who they recommend. They all work together and will have great insight!
START WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING
The sooner you find the perfect dress, the longer you have to get it altered. If you’re intimidated (totally get it!), maybe schedule an initial try-on by yourself or with a friend. Try to have your dress purchased by 9 months out, if possible.
RESERVE HOTEL ROOM BLOCKS
I recommend giving guests at least two options in different price ranges - if you want to have a block at a fancy hotel, make sure you have a budget-friendly option, too.
BUILD YOUR WEDDING WEBSITE
Include your room block info, registry, and all other pertinent information.
TAKE ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS
These will be so cute on your Save-the-Dates!
START WORKING ON INVITATIONS
Always a good idea to start looking into this early, in case you decide you want to get a custom design.
SEND SAVE-THE-DATES
If your wedding requires your guests to travel, the sooner you send these out the better. Including a QR code to your website is always helpful!
SELECT YOUR BRIDESMAIDS/GROOMSMEN ATTIRE
Once you have your crew onboard, start nailing down what you want them to wear so everyone has time to get their orders in and alterations completed.
BOOK THE REHEARSAL VENUE
This is traditionally booked by the groom’s family, so make sure everyone knows who is doing what early to avoid any awkwardness or confusion.
BOOK YOUR GLAM SQUAD
If you want to do trials with a few different artists before deciding, just account for that in your budget so it doesn’t become stressful for you.
SECURE WEDDING INVITATIONS
Choosing now will give you plenty of time for a reprint, if something were to happen to the first batch!
ACCOUNT FOR ALL RENTAL ITEMS
Keeping a master list of what each vendor is bringing will help to make sure all linens, chairs, furniture, etc are accounted for.
HIRE YOUR OFFICIANT
If this is someone that you don’t know personally, make sure they understand the vibe you want at the ceremony.
TRANSPORTATION NEEDS
Always remember that if you transport your guests to your wedding venue, you need to have a plan for getting them back to their cars. This is also the time to consider whether you also want to book an exit vehicle.
BOOK THE HONEYMOON
Take a fun break from the wedding planning to get your romantic getaway booked!
GROOM’S TUX FITTING
Whether buying or renting, be sure to give yourself plenty of time for alterations.
BOOK YOUR WEDDING CAKE
Have a few tastings before you decide.
WEDDING NAIL TRIALS
If you have a few ideas for your wedding nails, try out a different one at each of your appointments leading up to the wedding!
SECURE YOUR MARRIAGE LICENSE
In Florida, you can get the 3-day waiting period waived if you do premarital counseling, and you’ll also get a discount on the fee. Start making your plan now!
BOOK YOUR FINAL TASTING
If you don’t love something you try, let them know! They will be so glad to know they are making exactly what you want.
BUY YOUR WEDDING BANDS
Make sure you like the way yours fits with your engagement ring!
SECURE BRIDAL PARTY OUTFITS
Never a bad idea to check in!
FINAL HAIR & MAKEUP TRIAL
This is your chance to speak up if you want to change something. Vendors will always value your honesty!
RE-EVALUATE BUDGET
Are there items you weren’t sure if you’d have the budget for? Whether it’s favors or a photobooth, evaluate whether your budget can support adding it on.
START YOUR VOWS
I recommend having a note on your phone so you can start adding thoughts to it as they come to you! This will help to circumvent overwhelm later.
PREPARE INVITATIONS
If you are having a destination wedding, consider sending them 3-4 months out. If not, 2-3 months gives you plenty of time.
SELECT READINGS FOR CEREMONY
If you have family members or friends you would like to read at your wedding, be sure to let them know around this time.
FIRST ALTERATIONS FITTING
You want to schedule this 3 months out, so you have plenty of time to get it just right.

SCHEDULE RSVP REMINDERS
This will help you do the outreach needed to have your full guest list by 30 days out.
SEND REHEARSAL INVITATIONS
If they are not included with your invitation suite, be sure to send them out now.
SECOND ALTERATIONS DRESS FITTING
Schedule this about 6 weeks out, and purchase the proper undergarments.
FINALIZE FLORAL/RENTAL ORDER
You can generally adjust guest numbers up to 30 days out, but check now to confirm.
MARRIAGE LICENSE APPOINTMENT
Schedule now to save yourself the stress.
SONG SELECTIONS/PLAYLISTS
Send to your entertainers, and don’t forget to make your Do Not Play list, too!
START BREAKING IN YOUR SHOES
This goes for bride and groom. Don’t be uncomfortable on your happy day!
SCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENTS
Manicure, Pedicure, Spray Tan, Massage - go ahead and get them on the calendar!
SHARE MASTER TIMELINE WITH YOUR PLANNER/ PHOTOGRAPHER
Make sure the timeline works for you.
THINK ABOUT THE SMALL THINGS
Do you still need a cake topper? Cake cutters? Champagne glasses for toasts? A card box? This is the time to take inventory!
WELCOME OR GIFT BAGS
Check to see if your hotel can distribute them for you!
FINAL GUEST COUNT
Be sure to get this number to Caterer, Bar, Florist, Venue and Rental company.
MAKE FINAL VENDOR PAYMENTS
Everyone has their own schedules, but most require that final payment 30 days out.
FINALIZE SEATING CHART
Include any dietary restrictions to the caterers. Make sure you have any necessary seating chart signs or place cards, as well.
FINAL VENUE WALK THROUGH
Come prepared with any and all questions!
PACK YOUR WEDDING DAY BAG
Create a checklist and pack your bag early!
MAKE YOUR MINI SCHEDULES
I always make mini schedules for bridal party and family that only shows exactly when and where they need to be day-of.
FINAL DRESS FITTING
If you have a complicated bustle, take a video of how it works to show whoever is helping you dress on the wedding day!
PACK YOUR DETAILS FOR PHOTOS
Try to keep all of the details you want in your photos in one place to make it easier for your photographer.
DAY PRIOR:
YOU MADE IT!
Take a deep breath and remind yourself what is most important!
STAY HYDRATED
Don’t go too hard on the champagne while you’re getting ready.
KEEP HEALTHY
Get a good night’s sleep and eat regular meals!
DRESS & VEIL
Take your dress and veil out of the bag the day before, if possible. Don’t forget your steamer!
EAT, DRINK AND BE MARRIED!

When applying for a marriage license, both parties, age 18 and over, must be present. A Florida marriage license allows a couple to get married anywhere in Florida, regardless of the county the license was purchased from. If you are getting married outside of Florida, obtain the marriage license from the state where you will be married. Every marriage license is issued by a county court judge or clerk of the circuit court under their hand and seal.
To obtain a marriage license you need: A valid federal or state government photo identification card is required and must provide the correct legal name, date of birth and signature of the applicant.
You do not need to be a resident of this county or the State of Florida to obtain a marriage license. Marriage licenses are for use within the State of Florida for sixty (60) days from the effective date. Prior to obtaining a marriage license, both parties must sign an affidavit indicating they have read the Family Law Handbook, which is available as an online resource through The Florida Bar Family Law Section in either English or Spanish. The Family Law Handbook is also available for viewing in the Clerk of Courts Marriage and One-Stop courthouse service locations. If either applicant has been previously married, the exact date of the last divorce, death, or annulment must be provided. If you have one, or more child(ren) together, who were born in the State of Florida, you must complete the Affirmation of Common Child(ren) Born in Florida form.
