New mural celebrates local history

From left, Tim Bliss, Rich Medel and Jim Campos cut the ribbon for the long-awaited mural at Aliso Elementary School, which was revealed on Tuesday, Sept. 12. The unveiling ceremony was attended by dozens of community members, Aliso Elementary School students and members of the Carpinteria Cultural Foundation, which commissioned the mural from Ventura-based artist MB Hanrahan.
