Incumbents rule the polls in Selbyville By Susan Canfora Staff Reporter Incumbent Selbyville Town Councilmen Gary Steffen and Chris Snader will each serve a second two-year term after winning the Saturday, March 1, election. They, along with incumbent Mayor Rick Duncan, who ran unop-
posed for his own second two-year term, will be sworn in at the Monday, April 7, town council meeting. The council meets at 6 p.m. on the first Monday of each month at Selbyville Town Hall. Steffen received the highest number of votes at 61, with Snader a close second with 54 votes. Challenger Timothy
Grote received 25 votes. Seventy-four residents cast 140 votes. Steffen, previously the Town’s code enforcement constable and a police chief in Pennsylvania for 28 years, said one of his goals as he begins a new term is seeing the new water tower project completed because it will “help the town out considerably with water pres-

Cobb running for second term in Ocean View By Susan Canfora Staff Reporter Ocean View Town Councilman Stephen Cobb has filed to run for a second, three-year term, representing District 1. The other Ocean View Town Council seat with a term expiring this year is currently occupied by Councilwoman Colleen Twardzik. Both terms expire in April. Twardzik could not be reached for comment this week, but Town Clerk Donna Schwartz said two residents had filed to be candidates and were in the process of being certified by the Board of Election. Cobb said he assumed he would be certified, since he is currently on the council. The deadline to file to run in the election is Wednesday, March 12. To be eligible to run in this year’s election, a resident must be at least 18, a United States citizen, Ocean View resident at least one year, a resident of District 1 or 2, and eligible to vote in town elections. Officials break ground on Frankford’s Vines Creek Crossing By Kerin Magill Staff Reporter Two years after Frankford annexed 263 acres into the town, development of one of those parcels has officially begun. Gathered at the front of what was
known as the Cress-Parsons farm, which will now be known as Vines Creek Crossing, officials from the Town, as well as the developers, broke ground on the 150-acre development, which will include 584 homes. Lennar Homes will be the developer
for the project. The Miami-based company has built several other communities in the area, including Plantation Lakes in Millsboro, Schooner’s Landing in Selbyville and Lighthouse Bay in Ocean City, Md. Robert Horsey, owner of Double H
