Fenwick candidates make their cases with FISH By Kerin Magill Staff Reporter Four candidates for Fenwick Island Town Council made their cases for town residents to elect them during a forum sponsored by a homeowner group on Saturday, July 13. Richard Benn, Susan Brennan, Will-
liam Rymer and James Simpson are each vying to either retain their seat or gain one on the council, with the election set for Saturday, Aug. 3. Benn and Rymer are incumbents. There are three seats up for grabs this year. In addition to Rymer’s and Benn’s terms, the term of Council Member Ed Bishop expires this year.
Murray, Duncan elected to IRHS Hall of Fame
He did not file for re-election because he is moving out of town. The forum, sponsored by FISH (Fenwick Island Society of Homeowners) and moderated by Amy Kyle, consisted of each candidate giving an opening and closing statement, with homeowners’ questions submitted before the event started.

By Mike Smith Staff Reporter Sussex County Public Safety Director Robert W. “Robbie” Murray Jr., a member of Indian River High School’s Class of 1990, was elected to the IRHS Hall of Fame for 2024, along with Selbyville Mayor Richard A. “Rick” Duncan Jr., a member of the Class of 1975, at a ceremony last week at the school. “It is an honor to be recognized by the Indian River High School Alumni,” said Murray. “While previous honorees include leaders with varying backgrounds, representing different professions, one thing they all have in common is a commitment to serve others. Millsboro police warn residents of scam fundraising letters By Susan Canfora Staff Reporter Millsboro police are warning residents not to donate to a phony organization called Citizens Behind the Badge, which they said is posing as a supporter of police officers.
Letters being sent to residents, Millsboro Police Department Sgt. Jonathan Zubrowski warned this week, state that donations will benefit police, but anyone who receives a letter or gets a phone call should contact Millsboro police. “Scammers are calling and mailing
citizens telling them that they need monetary donations to support their local police department. This is a fake organization of scammers attempting to trick people into giving them money. If you receive a call or e-mail from someone claiming to be from Citizens Behind the Badge, do not
