“would be silenced and muted.” He announced his intent to withdraw by e-mail to Coastal Point and Town Clerk Donna Schwartz. Schwartz confirmed later that afternoon that Jennison had signed the paper to officially withdraw from the race. With Jennison out of the race, his only opponent, Joseph “Jay” Tyminski, will assume the District 3 seat now held

by Councilman Tom Maly — who is not eligible for reelection because he has served two consecutive three-year terms. Also in the race are candidates for mayor, incumbent Mayor John Reddington and newcomer Randy Robust. Jennison told Coastal Point he was thinking about a question he was asked after announcing his candidacy — what could he do to improve the town. He

and his wife discussed it and she asked him where he can make the most difference. He decided it would be “from the outside,” he said. “She had a good point. I rely on her for counsel. I can have the biggest influence of exposing the town’s misdeeds from the outside and when they do well, I will comSee JENNISON page A5

By Susan Canfora Staff Reporter Ocean View residents will vote for mayor on Saturday, April 8, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Town Hall on West Avenue. Candidates for mayor are incumbent Mayor John Reddington, running for a second, three-year term, and challenging newcomer Randy Robust. Dick Jennison and Joseph “Jay” Tyminski were scheduled to run for the District 3 seat being vacated by Councilman Tom Maly, who is ineligible to run again, because he has served two consecutive three-year terms. Jennison announced he was dropping out of the race on Wednesday, April 5, meaning Tyminski will take that seat. Newly elected council members will be sworn in at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, at Town Hall. Other council members are Stephen Cobb, District 1, term expiring April 2025; Colleen Twardzik, District 2, term expiring April 2025; and Don Walsh, District 4, term expiring April 2024. Millville looks to unify town under singular ZIP code By Kerin Magill Staff Reporter Millville is having an identity crisis. Inasmuch as towns are identified by their ZIP codes, at least, Millville’s

boundaries are not reflected in a corresponding ZIP code. While most residents do have the 19967 ZIP code designated as Millville’s, some residents have Ocean View’s 19970 code and some, Frankford’s 19945.

The town is currently in a tug-of-war with the U.S. Postal Service to bring the entire town into the 19967 ZIP code. Town Manager Deborah Botchie has grown frustrated as her letters to U.S.P.S. officials in Washington, D.C. have been

met with responses that acknowledge the issue but, so far, have not brought the resolution she and other town officials seek: one ZIP code for all of Millville. See MILLVILLE page A6
