VOLUNTEER CONNECTION A MESSAGE FROM THE VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
It’s time for our Annual Education and Flu Campaign! Completion and submission of your documentation is a Joint Commission requirement. If you haven’t done so already, please submit your materials today to help us remain compliant.
I have been with Coastal Hospice Volunteer Services for about five months now. I had no idea what I was getting myself into really! It did take a hot minute to get all of the "do this" & "don't do that" things under control. Coming to work for Hospice seemed like a place that I was destined to be, especially since I have always been more apt to help others than to help myself. Landing in the Volunteer Services department couldn't be a better fit.
To work with such a wonderful group of volunteers has been amazing. For starters, the welcome I received from everyone really warmed my heart and it has made me realize there are some really 'good' people in the world. Their continued support for what 'we' do is beyond compare. From dropping what they are doing to pick up the certificate and military blanket for a military veteran patient who may have limited time and being USA proud to perform the "We Honor Veterans' service for them and their family, to allowing themselves to be gently persuaded to take on yet another patient for companionship visits. Volunteer Services have gone through some growth spurts in 2025. Besides getting an entirely new VS team, volunteers have adapted to changes in processes and procedures.
