WORLD CUP FEVER! Lauderhill to host kickoff events ahead of FIFA 2026 tournament As anticipation builds across South Florida ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026, the City of Lauderhill is positioning itself at the heart of the regional buildup, launching a twoday “World Cup Kickoff” celebration designed to tap into what officials expect will be a major economic and cultural surge.

The initiative comes as Miami Gardens prepares to host seven World Cup matches at Hard Rock Stadium from June 15 to July 18, 2026, including group-stage fixtures, knockout games, and the bronze medal final. Under existing U.S. law, individuals who owe more than $2,500 in child support can be deemed ineligible for a passport. The State Department said it is now working more closely with the Department of Health and Human Services to identify cases of significant delinquency and enforce restrictions, including passport revocation.
