judith b. solberg Editor and co-author Judith Solberg joined the Cardigan community in 2017. She established the School’s archives collection and manages special projects, with a focus on building community and drawing connections between past and present. Solberg is a New England native and Harvard graduate; she spent time on each coast as a technical writer and consultant before returning to New Hampshire in 2002 to work with non-profits and educational institutions across the region.

richard r. rearick Dick Rearick had just retired from a second tenure at Cardigan when he completed his Cardigan history (1960–95). A graduate of Loomis Academy and Dartmouth College, Rearick was a World War II veteran who had served with the 125th Engineering Battalion, and worked as the business manager of the Emma Willard School, Montclair Kimberley Academy, and the Lincoln School. Rearick passed away in 1997.

robert c. hopkins Charter trustee Bob Hopkins worked directly with the School’s founders to write Cardigan’s first history (1945–60). He was a graduate of Worcester Academy and Dartmouth College (of which his brother would later be president), and a longtime advertising executive with The New Yorker magazine. From drafting Cardigan’s first brochure in 1946 to penning the Cardigan hymn just before his death in 1962, Hopkins was a lifelong believer in the promise of Cardigan.
