PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Michael Free First of all, I wish you all a happy and healthy 2022. 2021 has again been a difficult and turbulent year. We certainly live in unusual �mes. Our resolve as a club, has been tested through these challenges in our second year of Covid-19 shutdowns and restric�ons in New South Wales. As vaccina�on rates rise and restric�ons are wound back, it will be very nice to get back to something which looks like a familiar lifestyle. Now we stand at the beginning of a new year and we are determined to con�nue inves�ng into building your great club. Work has commenced on the new facade in Thurlow Street which should be completed early in 2022 followed by an upgrade to the Li�leton Street facade. It is very important to us that we look to the future and focus on diversifica�on strategies, to ensure the con�nued profitability of the Club. Earlier in 2021 we acquired the building that is home to Gus’s Seafood, allowing us to further expand our footprint. Addi�onally, with our commercial premises on Li�leton Street totally occupied with tenants we are con�nuing to create reoccuring revenue streams. I am also pleased to report our carpark & commercial premises development with a projected 7 year loan repayment period has been paid off in only 3 years. We are so proud of where we are and the careful management that has contributed to this significant result. During January 2022 we also welcomed Mike’s Grill into the Club Rivers family. Mike’s menu is packed with great food, everything from juicy steaks, seafood and burgers to classic favourites like the Chicken Parmi and Ribs as well as a selec�on of weekly specials. Come in and experience some seriously good food on your next visit.
On another posi�ve note, it is with great pride that I present our financial accounts for 2021. In spite of the difficult year we faced, the results are reassuring. This year we achieved a profit before tax of $3,875,546 with an EBITDA of 32%. On the community front, in 2021 our club con�nued it steadfast support to the local and greater communi�es through ClubGrants and CRCommuniTEAM programs. I am pleased to report that our ClubGrants dona�ons and support to local chari�es and spor�ng groups was again just shy of $350,000. The Major recipients of this year’s ClubGrants Category 1 dona�ons included; Veterans Centre Sydney; Northern Beaches Inc, Sir Roden & Lady Cutler Founda�on, RSL & Services Clubs Associa�on, Au�sm Community Network, Disaster Relief Australia, Riverwood Punchbowl Anglican Church, Learning Links, Li�le Wings, 3 Bridges Community, Au�sm Spectrum Australia, Child Abuse Preven�on Service, Georges River Life Care, St George Children with Disabili�es, Southern Sydney Women's Domes�c Violence Court Advocacy Service, Foster Care Angels Inc, Wounded Heroes Associa�on Inc, Macular Disease Founda�on of Australia, The Shepherd Centre, Recrea�on Sports & Aqua�cs Club & Sailability NSW Inc. A�er 14 years as club director, Paul Reeves has made the decision to stand down. We would like to thank Paul for his service, passion, hard work & contribu�on to the board of Club Rivers and local junior sport. On that note the Board & Management are delighted to announce the appointment of Theresa Tasaico as a new Director commencing in February 2022. Theresa serves on many local spor�ng commi�ees and is deeply commi�ed to giving back to the community through her engagement with numerous spor�ng ini�a�ves. To my fellow directors thank you for your con�nued support and for the many hours you have devoted for the benefit of Club Rivers. Once again, from the Board and Management of Club Rivers we wish you all a happy and healthy 2022, and take care of your family and loved ones.

NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Annual General Meeting of Riverwood Legion and Community Club Limited ACN 000 411 923 (the “Club”) will be held in the Club’s premises at 32 Littleton Street, Riverwood New South Wales at 6.30 pm on Monday 11th April 2022. All notices of motion are to please be in the hands of the CEO by Wednesday 16th March 2022. All questions pertaining to the clubs accounts are to please be in the hands of the CEO by Wednesday 30th March 2022 to ensure accuracy of response.

OUT & AB UT Secret Santa Visit – Tuesday 14th Dec 2021 Our Club Rivers Santa and his elf visited 7 families and one group (12) of children this year, all with special needs. This event was promoted and adver�sed through ACN and Santa really spread the Xmas joy which made their day. $400 was collected and added to the Charity Box dona�ons for Starlight Founda�on. Life Care Padstow – Xmas Dinner – 15th December 2021 CRC has again donated BBQ Chicken, 2 hams and Communiteam staff to assist at this yearly event, supplying and serving Xmas dinner for 80 Members of the Lie Gate Church Padstow. Georges River Life Care – School Back Packs - Dec 2021 Our team assisted GRLC pack school bags to donate to local schools which we have finacially suppported through our online raffles. It was so great to get back out in the community and assist with this ini�ai�ve. We are also assis�ng with the delivery of the school bags to local schools Georges River Life Care – Hampers - Dec 2021 Our CRC team packed 150 hampers for GRLC to distribute to families in need throughout the Xmas and holiday season. Padstow Community Care - Xmas Lunch - December 2021 CRC has again be donated 3 hams plus a Cash dona�on to assist with providing Xmas Lunch for locals associated with Padstow Community care. Xmas Appeal Dona�ons - December CR staff have donated $20 from their pay to contribute with the CR Xmas appeal, $940 was collect from staff. Along with dona�ons from our Members where were able to provide RCC with wrapped toys for distribu�on to local families in need throughout Xmas.
