As we approach the end of another remarkable year, I am proud to reflect on everything we have achieved together as a Club and as a community. Club Rivers has always been more than just a place to meet, dine or enjoy entertainment—it is a place where people connect, friendships are formed, and our community thrives. This edition is especially significant as we celebrate 65 years of Club Rivers. Since opening our doors in November 1961, generations of members, volunteers, directors and sta� have shaped the Club into the welcoming and vibrant community hub it is today. While much has changed over six and a half decades, one thing has remained constant—our commitment to supporting our members and giving back to our local community.
Behind the scenes, your Board and management continue planning for the Club's future. We remain committed to investing in our facilities, enhancing member experiences and ensuring Club Rivers remains financially strong and sustainable for generations to come. We look forward to sharing more about our long-term vision as planning progresses. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I wish you and your families a safe, happy and peaceful Christmas and a healthy, prosperous New Year. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2027 as we continue building on the proud legacy of Club Rivers.
Our ClubGrants Program continues to make a meaningful di�erence. During the past year we have invested more than $600,000 through ClubGRANTS, supporting local charities, schools, sporting groups and community organisations delivering vital services throughout the Georges River region. Every member who visits Club Rivers plays a part in making this possible, and on behalf of the Board, I sincerely thank you for your ongoing support. There is certainly no shortage of excitement around the Club as we head into the festive season. From live entertainment and Christmas celebrations to ra�les, dining experiences and family-friendly events, our team has prepared a fantastic calendar to ensure there is something for everyone. I encourage you to enjoy everything your Club has to o�er and celebrate the season with family and friends at Club Rivers.

Paul Millar A Year of Growth and Giving Back
Our outlets have had plenty to celebrate too. The Bunker sports bar marked its 4th birthday in style, teaming up with Dave Stanley for our Punters Club celebrations, while the Malt Barrel toasted an impressive 10 years of pouring craft beer for our members and guests. Both continue to be favourites for members looking for something a little di�erent, and we can't wait to see what the next year brings for each.
What a year it's been at Club Rivers. Visitation across the Club has grown enormously over the past twelve months, and that growth is down to one thing: the loyalty of our members. Whether you're here for a meal, a drink with mates, or one of our regular events, your support keeps this Club thriving — and on behalf of the whole team, thank you.
And speaking of milestones — this November, Club Rivers turns 65. Six and a half decades of bringing this community together is no small feat. What began as a meeting in the church hall on Coleridge St became the Riverwood Legion of Ex-Service Men and Women. Let us always be grateful to the founding committee for paving the way for us to this day.
It's also been a big year for giving back. Through our ClubGRANTS program we've contributed to local charities, schools and community groups across the Georges River region. Our team has been out and about visiting many of the organisations we support, seeing firsthand the di�erence that funding makes on the ground — and it's these visits that remind us why community support is at the heart of everything we do. Our CR Communiteam volunteers have clocked up over 900 hours of volunteering in the past 12 months, and I couldn't be prouder of our sta�.
Of course, the festive season is fast approaching, and our team has been busy planning a calendar full of activities to keep the whole family entertained. From live entertainment to special dining o�ers, there's something for everyone — make sure you get along and enjoy it. All the action is listed in the following pages.
Closer to home, we were also glad to lend a hand. The Autism Community Network (ACN) needed a private space where families in their community could meet, and where they could run the training and support sessions they provide. As it turned out, an o�ice became available right on our doorstep at just the right time, and we were happy to o�er it to them and now call them neighbours.
Behind the scenes, our operations continue to go from strength to strength, and there's plenty more happening than we can share just yet. Rest assured, exciting things are on the horizon for Club Rivers, and we look forward to bringing you along for the journey as plans take shape. Thank you again for your continued loyalty and support. Here's to a fantastic finish to the year, and an even bigger one to come. I hope to see you around the club soon.
Sleeping Rough to Change Lives On a cold winter's night in June, the Club Rivers carpark once again became a place of compassion, hope and community spirit as supporters gathered for the 2026 Georges River Life Care Sleeping Rough fundraiser. The annual event continues to shine a light on the realities faced by people experiencing homelessness, domestic and family violence, and financial hardship in our local community. Participants willingly traded the comfort of their own beds for a night sleeping outdoors, gaining a small glimpse into the challenges that many vulnerable families face every day. The evening commenced with a fundraising dinner at Club Rivers, bringing together local businesses, community leaders, volunteers and supporters united by a shared commitment to making a di�erence. Families also enjoyed the popular Family Zone activities before the overnight sleepout began, creating an opportunity for people of all ages to become involved in supporting this important cause. Club Rivers was proud to once again host this inspiring event and have members of our own team take part in the overnight challenge. As a long-time supporter of Georges River Life Care, we are committed to helping local organisations that provide practical assistance and hope to individuals and families doing it tough. Funds raised through Sleeping Rough enable Georges River Life Care to continue delivering emergency relief, case management and support services to people impacted by domestic and family violence, homelessness and financial hardship. We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered or slept out on the night. Your generosity and willingness to stand alongside those facing adversity demonstrates the incredible strength and compassion of our community. Together, we are helping to build a safer, stronger and more caring Georges River community. "Sleeping Rough has always been about much more than fundraising, although every dollar raised helps us keep our doors open and continue supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our community. What makes this event so special is its ability to bring people together, creating awareness, compassion and empathy across generations, and helping our community better understand the challenges faced by those experiencing hardship and homelessness." "Our partnership with Club Rivers has enabled us to take Sleeping Rough to the next level. Through the generosity of their team, who have volunteered both their time and resources for this mammoth 14-hour program of 3 separate events, we have been able to scale the event and invite even more members of the community to participate, learn and support the vital programs and services provided by Life Care. Their commitment and ambition for this community event matches our own, and we are incredibly grateful for their partnership."

The season runs for approximately 20 weeks and concludes Friday 5th March, 2026. We are pleased to announce Georgie Latanis- Club President was named NSW Little Athletics Coach of the year 2026 & NSW Community Sports Junior coach of the year 2026. Georgie was also honoured with the Padstow Rotary Club YAP scholarship and the Australian Athletics Women’s Coach Scholarship to attend the 2026 Women in coaching and leadership Day & national coaching conference. Georgie is also accepting a prestigious award from the honourable Mr Mark Coure MP regarding coaching. We are also pleased to announce club member and Senior Club champions excellent e�orts this season, Baxter Bishop was the Australian All Schools 800m Gold medalist & the Australian Little Athletics 1500m Gold Medalist and Sienna Latanis was Silver medalist at the Australian All Schools Championships & Bronze medalist at the Australian Junior athletics Championships in Shot Put, Sienna also claimed her 8th Gold medal title in the NSW Little athletics State Combined Event & was selected to then represent Australia at the Oceania Championships in May. We are very proud of Baxter & Sienna. The Tiny Tot program is a 10 week program and is conducted Wednesday afternoons 5.30pm-6.15pm. The program commences Wednesday October 7th and concludes December 9th. The program enables fun while building fundamental movement skills and target children turning 4 (born 2022).

Celebrating 65 Years of Community This November, Club Rivers proudly celebrates an incredible milestone— 65 years of serving our members, supporting our community and bringing people together. Since opening its doors in 1961, Club Rivers has grown from humble beginnings into one of the Georges River area's most valued community clubs. While much has changed over six and a half decades, one thing has remained constant: our commitment to creating a welcoming place where friendships flourish, families gather and the community comes first. Generations of members have shared countless memories within our walls—from milestone celebrations and family dinners to live entertainment, sporting triumphs and community events. Every chapter of our history has been shaped by the people who have walked through our doors—our loyal members, dedicated sta�, volunteers, directors and the many community organisations we have proudly supported. Today, Club Rivers is more than a destination for great dining and entertainment. It is a place that gives back. Through our community partnerships, ClubGRANTS program, fundraising initiatives and local sponsorships, we continue to invest in the wellbeing of the Georges River community, supporting schools, charities, sporting clubs, veterans, seniors and those most in need. This spirit of giving remains at the heart of everything we do. As we celebrate our 65th anniversary, we also look confidently to the future. Ongoing improvements to our facilities, new dining experiences and exciting plans for the years ahead ensure Club Rivers will continue to evolve while staying true to the values that have guided us since 1961. To every member, past and present, thank you for being part of our journey. Your loyalty, friendship and support have helped shape the Club Rivers story, and we look forward to creating many more memories together. The following excerpt was taken from an article written by Fred Lord ex president of Club Rivers and published in the Sept 1974 Souvenir Club Journal.
Where did it all begin? Late in January 1959 letters were sent to quite a number of fellows who were thought to be ExServicemen asking all to attend a meeting at the Methodist Church in Coleridge St,Riverwood. How well I remember it. I went to see a chap who lived near Peakhurst School and suggested to him that I wanted to hire a church hall. His immediate reaction was that we would be having a drinking orgy, of whick I assured him we would not be drinking in any shape,and then he said we must not allow smoking: again I asured him we would not smoke and so for the payment of a fee of 1.0.0 we hired the hall. In our ignorance we all thought to obtain a club it was necessary to join the R.S.L or Legion movements to qualify. Both the R.S.L and Legion were approached and the Legion being the smaller of the two saw the opportunity and grasped it by sending along their secretary, Major ric Vidal M.C. to our next meeting. Fellows Like Eric Evans and the then president of the Hurstville Legion, Jack Cooper were of great assistance in offering their help. So it came to pass at that meeting we formed a local body of the Australian Legion of ExServicemen & Women. The Sub-branch was born.

As a Tiny Tot , I was raised on a Tobacco farm at Glasshouse Mts in QLD, my backyard was Maroochydore and Caloundra !! 8. What did you want to be when you were younger? Back in my younger days, I was fascinated with Astronomy, many a night I set up my telescope and searched the heavens for Constellations and Planets

OUT & AB Australia’s BigGest Club Rivers has proudly reached an incredible milestone, raising $52,170 through Australia's Biggest Morning Tea over the past 15 years in support of the Cancer Council. What began as a simple community gathering over tea and homemade treats has grown into a much-loved annual tradition, bringing together members, sta�, volunteers and the local community to make a real di�erence. Every cup shared, ra�le ticket purchased and donation made has helped fund vital cancer research, prevention programs and support services for Australians a�ected by cancer. This remarkable achievement reflects the generosity and compassion of the Club Rivers community, proving that when people come together for a worthy cause, every contribution can help create a brighter future.

We had a wonderful time hosting this incredible event!
