KDCCP Frank’s BBQ It was a successful fundraiser that KDCCP held last Saturday. The catered meal was delicious. The company was fun. They made about $20,000 in the “paddle raise” alone! The raffle baskets and 50/50 raffle also brought in some significant funds. The 50/50, with the winner graciously returning the funds, was at almost $1000! And, our own Bob Munger had his ticket drawn for 3 of the 9 baskets, including the one that our club put together! (He kept his two favorites and graciously let the third one go to someone else.) Frank’s video of “Penny’s Story” was a highlight of the event. It was especially nice to see Frank honored for expanding the KDCCP fundraising program throughout the Kiwanis PNW District. Since then, PNW Kiwanians have been responsible for millions being donated to the cause! We also got to meet a new “Fellow” from the program. It was shared that this year’s applicants numbered at 55, with 3 being selected! Being a “Fellow” is truly an honor. It was a lively evening with our own John Brookens as the Master of Ceremonies. Another highlight for us was when Cody donated our club’s $1000 check during the paddle raise.

• Saturday, October 10th • Held at Portland Zoo • Be there by 7:30 a.m. • Special “free” entrance • Can stay afterwards in the Zoo • Lots of fun “swag” given freely • The “walk” is a short one through Zoo animal exhibits • Donations to the club’s fundraising efforts are appreciated… George will share the details for how to do that!
Event: Free Food Market - Tigard Date: Monday, October 5th Event Time: 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Location: 10777 SW Cascade Ave. Tigard, OR 97124 Volunteer Details: They need volunteers in the morning and afternoon to help set up and sort the food being delivered. 1st shift: 7:30 a.m.to 10:30 a.m. (or can work until 12:30 p.m.) 2nd shift: 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
