MHKC Walk Roll & Stroll It was a very cheerful crowd that gathered at Oaks Amusement Park last Sunday morning for the annual Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp Walk, Roll & Stroll. There were eight of us there, more than half of the 13 needed as course monitors. They gave us pompoms and took us out on the course to stand in various locations and direct the “walkers”. It was mentioned that our work saved the organizers $250 that they would have otherwise been required to pay the park staff. After the walk, they served us lunch and then we played bingo, followed by the raffle drawing. Two of our members won fabulous raffle prizes. In all, it was a fun service event! Our team also ended up raising $1,920.25 for the cause! It was announced after the event that the Camp set a record of over $64,000 raised this year!
Bill won a private plane sight-seeing flight; and Jaclynn won a personalized cookie extravaganza!

• The room was filled… and more! The food was good and the company was better! (There were 17 of our people present, the largest group in the room!) There was a fun slide show that featured many of our members doing service projects. Each officer was installed into position. Jaclynn and Frank gave the gnome to the Cedar Hills Kiwanis Club. Sue was recognized with a George F. Hixson Fellowship Award. Jaclynn Anderson, Bob Bell, George Deibert, Frank Morehouse, and Bill Pennell… all past, (and current), club Presidents collaborated to donate $1000 to the Kiwanis Children’s Fund to make that award possible!

Thomas Hrabal, from Cedar Hills, was installed as the 2026-27 LTG
It was the last official meeting of the 202526 Kiwanis year. George brought a small gnome back from Europe to give Jaclynn as a thank you for her phenomenal leadership. And… Sue pulled the Queen of Spades out of the deck of raffle cards! She won $117. She gave $100 back to the club when the “Happy Thoughts” basket was passed around. The Key Club had their first meeting of the new school year on Thursday. 71 students attended. It was well-planned and the cookies were a big hit!
Fifteen members are signed up to attend and help at Frank’s BBQ TODAY. Thank you to Bob Munger for getting the wine donated, to the club members who helped buy the “extras” and to Christie for creating such a beautiful raffle basket (valued at $435 and weighing 60 pounds)!
