Key Clubbers Present at Meeting Our two Sherwood Key Club members who attended this year’s International Convention spoke at this past Wednesday’s Kiwanis meeting, sharing their experiences. They traveled to Dallas, Texas in late June/early July. Despite the weather being hot and humid, they stated that they had a wonderful time. Highlights mentioned were the opportunity to be voting delegates and to listen to debate regarding possible organizational changes. They also mentioned being inspired by the various sessions, and by meeting people who have made a positive difference in the world. There was a long discussion about a workshop titled, “Aura Farming” … of course we had to ask what that was! It turns out that it was a creative way of talking about positively presenting yourself when speaking in public! They commented that meeting and making friends with Key Clubbers from all over was also a huge plus! Of course, there were fun activities mixed in with all the serious experiences. They were able to go to a Medieval Times dinner, Six Flags over Texas, and a museum dedicated to describing the assassination of President Kennedy. They were very appreciative of the opportunity to attend Key Club ICON!

MHKC Walk, Roll & Stroll • Show up at Area 15 at Oaks Amusement Park by 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 13th. For those who have been to this event in the past, this is a new location, close to the far edge of the parking lot. Be prepared to be course monitors and then enjoy a great meal provided by MHKC, as well as fun entertainment. The event should end by around noon. This is your last chance to support our team fundraising effort, so if you have not yet donated to the cause, and you wish to do so…

• Jaclynn and Robby are signed up to do Sunday Parkways on the afternoon of the 13th. Would anyone else like to travel with Jaclynn for this project? That day will be the last opportunity, until next May, for raising funds for the club via this means. If you are interested in helping with this project, click HERE. Also, please let Jaclynn know if you would like to ride with her. She will be traveling from the MHKC Walk, Roll & Stroll to the afternoon event, so it makes sense that anyone riding with her should travel with her to the morning event, as well!
• Tuesday is the Division Installation Dinner. Hopefully, ALL our officers, (both retiring and incoming), are signed up to be there! Please be at the Si’ Senor Mexican Restaurant by 6:30 p.m. The address is: 11525 SW Choban Ln. The evening will include dinner, officer installation and member recognition, as well as a slide show of club participation in activities this past year. Any officer who has NOT signed up, please share that fact with Jaclynn, as special plans will have to be made to see that you are installed into position for the 2026-27 year.
Last Meeting Did you know that Jaclynn’s last official meeting as club President will be the one at lunchtime on September 16th. She plans to do a review of this past year. Please be at Murrayhill Taphouse by 11:45 a.m. Let’s show our appreciation for her leadership!
• The first official 202627 school year SLP activities start this week.
Thank you to everyone who signed up to help with the KDCCP Frank’s BBQ • Please be at the Wilsonville Community Center, 7965 SW Wilsonville Rd. by 1:00 p.m. (if you are helping with set-up). • Otherwise, show up around 2:45 p.m. • If you are helping with clean-up, please remember to stay as long as needed; plan for possibly as late as 8:00 p.m. • Those members helping with other tasks will receive training after arrival. • Note: We should be able to sit together, probably at more than one table! • It is exciting to know that our own Frank Morehouse will be honored for his hard work and dedication in spearheading the first Kiwanis Doernbecher Children’s Cancer Program as a project to be celebrated throughout the entire PNW District.
