It got up to 91* and our energy flagged a little as the day progressed. But, despite weather complications, it felt good to be telling others about our program. The Plinko game is still popular, and it gives us the opportunity to share with others our Kiwanis program of activities, giving them a chance to learn a little about us. Our Key Clubbers, doing face painting, raised $142.87 for the RonaldMcDonaldHouse.

• Wednesday’s Kiwanis meeting was inspiring in the sense that we were able to hear our officer slate talk about their goals for the upcoming Kiwanis year. Incoming President, Bob Munger indicated that he plans to implement a “member survey” regarding interests. There were comments made regarding the need to change and grow, making children’s education a more vital club emphasis, finding new opportunities to serve, working towards the next step and doing more things to be involved in the community of Tigard.

• Teams of members start at 9:00 a.m. THIS MORNING to deliver Mother’s Day flowers. Thank you to all members who signed up to help with this service project, which is also a lucrative fundraiser for the club.
• Don’t forget to be at the Dragonfly Asian Bistro on Wednesday, May 13th by 6:15 p.m. for our May evening meeting. The food is great, and the company is fantastic. Let’s see if we can get almost everyone there! (Don’t forget to bring children’s books!)
Mother’s Day
Flower Deliveries May 9th and 10th
• Please remember Sunday Parkways on May 17th. Members should arrive at Spring Garden Park at the time emailed to them. Prepare to be amazed at the variety of travel venues you will see on that day!
• On Wednesday, May 20th – Governor John Flaherty will be our presenter at the lunchtime meeting; we have an Adopt-A-Road project at Sherwood Middle School at 3:00 p.m. and there is the Beach Hut Bingo Night at 6:00.
