It Was the John & John Show…
At Wednesday’s meeting we were lucky to have the Kiwanis Pacific Northwest Governor, John Flaherty in attendance. He shared information about a new branch of the Kiwanis Family, called “Voices”. Kiwanis International is in the beginning stages of implementing this program. Voices targets people age 18-26. John urged us to share details about Voices with our graduating senior Key Clubbers. Key Club is the largest of the K-Family branches, but John stated that 70% of those who graduate don’t re-connect with the Kiwanis Family at any time later in life. Voices is meant to help change that statistic. In addition to his presentation, John had the honor of bestowing a “Legion of Honor” award to our own John Brookens, who has been an active member for 45 years! Whew! Imagine that! Congratulations, John Brookens on some well-deserved recognition!
