Community Warehouse
A NEW adventure for our club – On Saturday, March 28th, members will be volunteering at the Tigard Community Warehouse. This will be our first opportunity to volunteer as a group with this organization. If you click on the picture above, you will be “taken” to the Home Page of the Community Warehouse website. On that page, find the video to view. It is worth taking a few minutes of your time to watch, as it does a good job of explaining the mission and activities of the Community Warehouse. Our purpose on March 28th will most likely be to help sort and organize donations. They also need people to refinish donated furniture. This is a project that may be ongoing for our club, with regular days set aside to help at the Warehouse. We are hoping that most club members might be able to free up their time to assist with Let’s check it out and see how we can help with this worthwhile cause!
At-A-Glance
What a great way to support the Foundation for the Tigard-Tualatin Schools… Three of us were at the FTTS Bingo Night on Wednesday. It was a lot of fun! It costs $16 for 6 cards that last all night; and if you want, you can also buy a $10 raffle ticket for a 50/50 pot. The room was so packed we couldn’t help but make some new friends!
After school on Thursday the Builders Clubbers cleaned tables in classrooms… a project that was very much appreciated by the teachers!
Board Members – Remember the Zoom meeting on Wednesday, March 25th at 7:00 p.m.
• Hundreds of children in 12 different housing units will benefit from the book drive we are co-sponsoring with the Sherwood Key Club
Any Kiwanis member who has access to gently used children’s books, please consider donating them to our book drive. You can bring the books to any meeting or upcoming event and give them to Sue.
• You can begin signing up For Sunday Parkways after March 20th . Expect an email message from Bob Munger describing what you need to do. Meanwhile, please save these dates: May 17, June 28, August 2 and September 13. You can sign up for a single date, or all of them, or one at a time, as the summer progresses. Remember that these events not only count as service activities but also bring funds into the club accounts, $30 per individual, per shift. There is a morning shift and an afternoon shift on each of the days. The May 17th event is in the Multnomah area.
Kiwanis Doernbecher Children’s Cancer Program
On Wednesday, Bob Munger sent all our Kiwanis members a flyer from KDCCP. It gives you a link to check out the online auction to “support a future without children’s cancer”. Tigard was one of 20 Kiwanis Clubs donating auction items… three fabulous trips in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Here is a wonderful chance for you to assist the cause by bidding, and maybe winning, a trip of your dreams! Bidding starts on March 23rd and ends on March 29th .
If you wish to support the Sherwood Key Club’s efforts to pay for their just-passed District Convention… please consider buying some pizza on Wednesday, March 25th .

• Anyone wishing to help at the Oregon Food Bank on Saturday, April 4th, (and not already signed up), please contact Sue HERE. Don’t forget the new start time of 1:00 p.m.
We are hosting the April Division Council Meeting on the 6th , which is a hybrid meeting, (with some people showing up in person at the Courtyard Village), and others attending via Zoom. Our program will be sharing how to do a Farmers Market booth.
We start back with our evening meetings on April 8th. We will be at the Dragonfly Asian Bistro starting at 6:15 p.m. The address is 7700 SW Dartmouth St., Tigard. Our presenter that night will be the LTG, Delanie Delimont.
The Key Club District Convention Recap Presentation is scheduled for Monday, April 13th in the Community Room at Sherwood High School starting at 7:00 p.m.
Put April 16th on your calendar for Fantasy Yarn Wigs. It’s being held at the Courtyard Village and there are two sessions. One starts at 10:00 a.m. and the other at 12:30 p.m.
