QREM at Clinique La Prairie: A New Approach to Joint Pain

Since March, Clinique La Prairie has introduced QREM into its range of treatments This new approach reflects our commitment to more personalized and preventive care

To learn more, we spoke with Duccio Boscherini, neurosurgeon and Associate Professor at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. He highlights an important evolution: moving from a focus on symptoms to an approach that works on the body’s underlying biological mechanisms.

What is QREM ?

QREM is a medical technique that uses the body’s natural resources to support healing Instead of introducing external medication, this approach is based on the patient’s own blood

The principle is simple: a small amount of blood is taken and processed to extract a serum rich in cytokines, substances involved in inflammation and tissue repair

This serum is then re-injected into the area to be treated, such as a joint or a painful muscle This approach is commonly used for conditions like osteoarthritis or back pain, and can also be helpful for tendon-related issues

The goal is to reduce inflammation and support tissue repair by relying on the body’s natural abilities

Why is it innovative?

Unlike traditional treatments such as cortisone, QREM does not only aim to provide temporary relief, it works by activating the body’s natural processes

It is a more regulatory approach to medicine, focused on long-lasting effects

How is QREM being implemented at Clinique La Prairie, and why does it matter?

The integration of QREM at Clinique La Prairie reflects a clear intention to act earlier, before conditions reach stages that may require surgery

This approach fully reflects the philosophy of Clinique La Prairie: preserving health, maintaining mobility, and improving quality of life through personalized medicine

To conclude Doctor, what is your professional opinion?

QREM is particularly noteworthy for its innovative approach, moving beyond a purely symptom-focused model of care

Today, we are increasingly faced with degenerative conditions such as osteoarthritis, with few truly effective preventive solutions available Medical care often comes in too late, when damage is already established and may require surgical intervention

The value of this approach lies in acting earlier, by directly targeting the underlying biological and inflammatory mechanisms

HEALTH RESORT

New at Clinique La Prairie: Homemade Kombucha

Since March, guests at Clinique La Prairie have been invited to enjoy a complimentary tasting every Monday at lunchtime: a glass of homemade kombucha, carefully prepared by our kitchen teams, a great way to start the week. But what exactly is kombucha?

To learn more about this living beverage and its benefits, we met with Vittorio Sandomenico, Junior Sous-Chef and fermentation specialist We also spoke with Giorgia Grisotto, Health Science Specialist at CLP, to better understand why this type of beverage naturally fits into our guests’ dietary programs.

Vittorio, how would you describe kombucha in a few words?

Delicious, healthy, and naturally sparkling It’s a fermented tea with very ancient origins, rich in probiotics

What made you want to work with fermentation?

I’ve always enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen By specializing in fermentation, I discovered kombucha, a product that’s relatively easy to make and very healthy

How do you work with this product in the kitchen?

We create different kombucha flavors depending on the season Right now, for example, we ’ re offering apple & ginger and citrus These preparations require 15 to 20 days of fermentation before being served

Giorgia, what are the nutritional benefits of kombucha?

Kombucha is rich in probiotics, live bacteria, offering numerous benefits for the body The one we produce here at Clinique La Prairie is fresh and made on-site, with a high concentration of beneficial bacteria

It helps support the balance of the gut microbiota, with positive effects on the entire body, enhancing digestive health and the immune system, while also combating oxidative stress and inflammation

Why include kombucha in the experience offered to our guests?

The health of your gut microbiota is at the core of our dietary philosophy and shapes all the programs we offer A balanced gut is key to your overall well-being, affecting everything from digestion and mood to your immune system This fits perfectly with our holistic approach to reducing inflammation and promoting health

SUPPORT SERVICES

A solidarity initiative led by the Purchasing and Logistics team

In January, three pallets of medical equipment were sent to an association supporting communities with limited access to healthcare in Latin America Semsettin Aker, from the Purchasing Department and the initiator of the project, explains how this initiative came to life within CLP.

Shems, can you briefly tell us about your role at CLP?

I manage medical stock within logistics and purchasing In practical terms, I act as a link between the needs of the medical teams, such as the operating room and care teams, and our suppliers

I oversee what we call the medical store, including stock monitoring and replenishment, to make sure everything is available at the right time

How did this donation project come about?

During 2025, I realized that some medical equipment was unused or no longer compliant with Swiss standards, but still perfectly usable, items like gloves, dressings, or gowns I gradually set them aside, thinking that instead of being discarded, they could be useful elsewhere

How did you turn the idea into action?

In December 2025, I presented the stock to Avnija, our Purchasing Specialist We then reached out internally to find contacts and identified Medicuba, an association sending medical supplies to Latin America

A final word?

It’s true that this kind of project takes time and goes beyond our usual scope But personally, I believe it really makes sense When you work in the medical field, being able to contribute, even indirectly, to improving access to healthcare is important What I also really appreciated was seeing several people come together around the project, even though it meant a bit of extra work Hopefully, we won’t have too much unused stock in the future (laughs), but if it happens again, it would be great to carry out this kind of initiative again!

A WORD FROM OUR LIFE-CHANGERS

ASSUNCAO MARIA PEREIRA DO SOUTO

Floor Supervisor – Housekeeping

On January 22, 1996, Sao started her very first day with the housekeeping team at Clinique La Prairie. Thirty years later, she takes a few minutes to look back on her journey with us, sharing stories and memories that are truly priceless.

Sao, this year you celebrated 30 years at Clinique La Prairie What does this milestone mean to you?

First of all, I’m happy, and very proud to have reached 30 years with the company When you think about it, 30 years is almost a lifetime (laughs)!

I feel proud and grateful for this journey and for all the relationships I’ve built with my colleagues over the years I’ve always given my best, and I will continue to do so, and who knows, maybe I’ll dedicate my entire career to Clinique La Prairie

How would you describe your role?

I’ve been a Floor Supervisor for about 15 years now It can be a demanding job, but it’s also very human You build a special connection with guests and patients

Even if some situations can be a bit intimidating at times, it always comes down to human-to-human interaction, and that’s what I love I’ve met people like the football player Maradona, for example, as well as other personalities it’s quite incredible!

But in the end, it’s really about simple and natural interactions, sometimes we just chat I also really enjoy seeing guests who come back year after year Over time, you build a genuine connection, and I believe that’s also what makes Clinique La Prairie so special

CLP INSIDE

A WORD FROM OUR LIFE-CHANGERS

What will you take with you from CLP?

So many memories! Beyond work, I also cherish the wonderful events and trips organized by HR and the Mattli family, when we used to travel abroad together for several days (we were a much smaller group back then)

I can truly say that I discovered the world thanks to Clinique La Prairie, it has taken me everywhere

“I discovered the world thanks to CLP”

What has changed the most over the years?

We’ve always been modern at CLP, but it’s true that over the past 10 years, I’ve seen a lot of change, especially in the way we work, in communication, and in networks

In our profession as well, there has been a lot of evolution I’m thinking, for example, of innovations in products, greater awareness around waste, using fewer harsh chemicals for our health, and better protecting ourselves from exposure, which is very important

If you had to describe your personality in three words, which would you choose?

Smiling - dynamic - helpful

What advice would you give to someone starting at CLP today?

If I still feel so good in my job today, I think it’s because I’ve always made an effort to leave my problems at home, and vice versa

Even if it’s not always easy, it’s essential in our profession to create a positive environment for ourselves, our colleagues, and our guests

A WORD FROM OUR LIFE-CHANGERS

AGNESE BAGIELLA Reservation Manager

Agnese, in February you celebrated 15 years with the company. Can you tell us how your journey at CLP began?

I arrived in Switzerland in 2009, guided by my heart I followed love with great enthusiasm, even though I didn’t speak French at the time I already spoke Latvian, Russian, English, and Italian In 2011, I had the opportunity to join Clinique La Prairie in the Programs Department, at a time when Russian-speaking clients were very present My profile matched the needs well, and after two interviews, I was fortunate to be hired

Later on, I also regularly supported my colleagues in Reservations with Russianspeaking clients This involvement allowed me to grow into a role in Reservations, a position I immediately found dynamic and exciting Looking back, I realize that coming to Switzerland for love was the beginning of a wonderful journey

What do you enjoy most about working in the Reservations department?

It’s a role I find truly rewarding, as it allows me to use and develop my strengths every day I can use my languages, my communication skills, my logical thinking, and also a key ability: building trust For me, creating a connection and earning the client’s trust is essential

Working in Reservations requires strong listening skills, responsiveness, and emotional intelligence You need to understand expectations, sometimes even anticipate them, and offer solutions tailored to each client

JUBILEE

15

What I particularly enjoy is that no two days are ever the same There are always new challenges, some lovely clients, others more demanding, some situations that are simple and others much more complex And I think I need that mix to feel fulfilled in my work

Of course, I also have a soft spot for offers with six zeros, they always have a certain charm!

At the end of the day, working in Reservations is about much more than organizing a stay, it’s often about creating the very first bond of trust with our guests, and I find that extremely motivating

Do you have an anecdote to share from your work?

Honestly, I could write an entire book with all the incredible stories I’ve experienced here!

CLP INSIDE

A WORD FROM OUR LIFE-CHANGERS

Among the most memorable moments, I remember two sisters who used to come regularly to CLP One day, instead of making a bank transfer, they sent CHF 30,000 by post, in a simple envelope A wonderful example of absolute trust in the Swiss postal service!

Another memorable story: a Chinese client, after discovering our Revitalization program, had misunderstood the term cellular extract and very seriously asked how goat cheese was injected into the body And then there was also this English client who had heard somewhere that we charged CHF 40,000 for sheep liver

Looking back, it’s also these unexpected moments that make this job so unique and enjoyable So if anyone would like to hear more stories, just ask!

There are also more emotional moments

Some time ago, I received a farewell letter from a loyal guest who passed away after an illness It shows how genuine connections can be built with our guests Her husband still continues to visit us In some ways, we follow our guests’ life journeys, even from a distance

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and staying active I have two children, who have taught me patience which actually helps me a lot in my work! (laughs) I fully embrace Clinique La Prairie’s philosophy and pay close attention to my lifestyle During the week, I train every morning before work, I’ve significantly reduced my meat consumption, and nutrition has become a very important topic for me

Do you have a motto or a guiding principle in life?

A positive mindset! In my personal life, I always try to find something positive in every situation This mindset is very important to me, there is always something good to take away from it Professionally, it’s very similar: there is always a solution It’s a work culture I truly value For me, it’s impossible to tell a client, “it’s not possible, we can’t do it”, I

HATE THAT PHRASE! There is always another way to approach things and turn them into something positive

DESTINATION PHUKET

The Health Resort is rapidly coming to life in Phuket

Helen, could you introduce yourself and briefly tell us about your background?

I grew up in Hong Kong and have always been drawn to an international career After studying hospitality in Scotland, I progressed from operational roles to management positions, particularly in pre-opening projects and luxury hospitality in Phuket

My transition into longevity took place during COVID, when I led a project combining a functional health clinic with a wellness village This experience reshaped my perspective, leading me toward a more holistic and preventive approach to health

What excites you most about this project with CLP in Phuket?

I am truly proud to be part of this pioneering project It represents a unique opportunity to introduce Swiss standards of health and hospitality to Thailand, while setting a new benchmark in the region

The location itself is also exceptional Phuket’s natural beauty, the sea, the light, and the overall atmosphere, creates the perfect setting for a truly transformative wellness experience

On the occasion of the opening of our new Health Resort in Phuket, we had the pleasure of meeting Helen Clarke, General Manager of the project

She shares her journey, her vision, and her enthusiasm for this exciting new chapter with CLP

What is the current status of the project?

The resort is currently around 80% complete, and construction is progressing according to schedule, with delivery expected this summer and an opening planned for autumn 2026

Key positions have already been filled, and the total team will grow to around 180 collaborators, all trained to CLP standards, with the support of CLP Montreux

How will our Health Resort stand out in Thailand?

While Thailand is already a leading wellness destination, CLP sets itself apart through its strong scientific foundation and Swiss heritage Our approach combines medical expertise with high-end hospitality, offering a more advanced, rigorous vision of longevity, one that remains rare in the region

SUSTAINABILITY: A YEAR OF PROGRESS FOR CLP MONTREUX

Since 2023, we have achieved a 32% reduction in waste per unit of activity at Clinique La Prairie This progress reflects the ongoing efforts of our teams and a shared commitment to more responsible resource management

This momentum is also reflected in reduced energy consumption In 2025, we lowered our gas and electricity usage by the equivalent of the annual consumption of 30 households

These results demonstrate that concrete and targeted actions can generate a real, lasting, and measurable impact on the environment
