The Guinness Six Nations is once again proving to be one of the most valuable fixtures in the licensed on-trade calendar, with industry data pointing to nearly 12 million additional pints being sold across the tournament and close to £60 million in extra revenue flowing into British pubs and bars — even as operators navigate a tougher trading environment shaped by rising costs and the recent hike in beer duty.
Forecasts from the British Beer and Pub Association put the tournament's overall economic contribution to the sector at around £60 million above a normal February or March weekend, with close to 12 million incremental pints expected to be poured across all 15 matches.
