SENIOR SCHOOL UPDATE A word from the head... We expected the term to begin with the noise of joyous pupils rather than thunder, but it has been great to welcome your children back. While the site will still feel confusing for our newest pupils, I trust they have felt reassured that there is always a friendly face to point them in the right direction. Our new Year 7 certainly seemed to make the most of our lunchtime co-curricular fair today. Thank you or your kind feedback on my movie making skills. I do not plan to give up the day job yet! The list of enhancements was too long to include everything, but you may also be interested to note our new capacity to sign-in visitors digitally and to secure external doors remotely; just two of our many fresh steps taken to safeguard pupils. Elsewhere, we are anticipating an inspection from ISI (the independent sector’s equivalent of OFSTED) sooner rather than later and we look forward to showing our amazing school to the inspectors whenever the call comes. Mr Jelley has now taken up the role of junior school head, and I know he is enjoying meeting our younger children and their families. Matthew’s arrival is a massive step in our aim to make the most of a one school journey for our pupils. My thanks to all those who attended last night’s lovely prize winners’ event and congratulations to all those who were awarded a prize this year. Our speaker (former head girl, Christina Dixon) inspired us with her journey from Claremont to an environmental campaigning career, working on policy at the highest political level. It was fantastic to hear that Claremont’s ethos and values inspired her career and life. William Brierly
