Information about forthcoming fixtures can be found in the parent portal, which links to the SOCS system. You will have a ‘Parent’ login tab appear on your SOCS login page. For parents to begin logging into SOCS, they should first activate their account They can do so using the instructions below:
1 2 Access your school login page here: SOCS Login (socscms com) Select the ‘Parent’ login tab and click ‘Activate Account ’
3 Enter the email address you have registered with the school, and then select ‘Activate’
4 An email will then be sent to your email address containing an activation link where you can set a password Once you have followed the instructions on the link you should then be able to log in using your email address as the username and your password.
Team sheets are always uploaded onto SOCS / school sports portal We typically try to give parents and pupils a minimum of a week’s notice prior to the fixture date However, there may be occasions where this has not been possible due to fixtures being rearranged because of weather or a cup fixture
We always encourage parents to transport their own children to fixtures, so that they can stay to support . However transportation, both outgoing and return, will be provided by the school for all midweek and weekend fixtures at opposing schools. For weekend fixtures, parents are required to complete the transport booking information on SOCS by the Wednesday prior to fixtures by 4 00pm We require confirmation and consent if your child will be travelling on the school coaches to and from fixtures on a Saturday
When you are logged into SOCS (via Firefly/parent portal), you will be able to specify if your child is available for the fixture and that you give consent for your child to take part
You should navigate to the fixture via the calendar Select the correct date and click on the relevant fixture Once in the fixture you will be able to select the red 'submit consent/travel info' button. Note this will be available when team sheets have been published.
You will notice the red 'consent' button turning green once you have successfully completed your submission, providing a clear visual confirmation that consent has been granted for your child
More information can be found here: Sport Fixture Consent and Travel

In the core physical education lessons, pupils in Year 7 have two PE lessons a week. In the summer term, one of these lessons will be swimming, the other will be athletics. Swimming is obviously a lifelong skill and the outdoor pool at the school is a wonderful place to learn and develop skills. Athletics lessons give pupils a chance to experience all the disciplines of competitive athletics These lessons also give us the chance to select teams to compete in the many athletics meetings that we host after school here at Claremont throughout the summer All these activities are aimed at giving the pupils an all-round experience of the characteristics required for sport as well as an understanding of fitness for life. Each activity will aim to improve pupils’ physical capabilities, as well as specifically improving their social, personal and cognitive skills within sporting contexts. Pupils will be required to wear their full PE kit for all lessons. The summer term obviously means warm sunshine, therefore we expect pupils to wear PE kit for both games and PE lessons as laid out below

Athletics has long been associated with Claremont Fan court school For many years we have been the main host for athletics meetings for school’s across the county and after the success of last year’s expanded offering, we are again looking to offer more opportunity to both our own and local school’s pupils to enjoy and participate in these professionally run events. This year we will have two meetings a week, a track meet on a Tuesday and a full track and field meet each Thursday. Each week the aim is to offer an opportunity for years 7-10 to compete. However, due to exams the days for year groups will vary week on week. Please check SOCS for further information. For year 7, athletics lessons in PE will provide us with the opportunity to assess and select teams and on top of this, there will be an opportunity to attend lunch and after school training

Cricket at Claremont has grown steadily over the last few years with more and more pupils participating and representing the school. There are hard ball teams for all year groups. The boys and girls play separately meaning there is greater opportunity for all.
To facilitate the increasing demand for cricket and also to ensure pupils are progressing to their potential, cricket is taught predominantly in the summer term as part of the games programme for all year groups
Saturday matches
Along with a square on site at school, we also use a number of local clubs facilities for Saturday matches to maximise the number of pupils who play and represent the school. Almost all fixtures follow the T20 format and on Saturdays they begin at 9am and finish by 12noon.
Kit Requirements
Participation in this sport is an expensive outlay, therefore, we provide all the specialist kit needed and we do not expect parents to purchase anything unless they know their child is enjoying playing and wants to play both in and out of school. Pupils must wear the correct PE to all games sessions and this will also be the kit we require for matches as all the games will be played with white or pink balls.
Our tennis training programme operates year-round, ensuring that pupils have ample opportunities to hone skills and enjoy the game With different age groups catered to on specific nights, it’s the perfect environment to thrive and improve your game
We proudly compete in the prestigious LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) and Surrey Leagues, showcasing our talent and sportsmanship on a competitive stage. From thrilling matches to intense rivalries, our league participation adds an exciting dimension to our tennis community.

Claremont are delighted to partner with Esher Tennis Club who deliver a comprehensive tennis programme for all ages and abilities, from early years pupils starting out to sixth form players competing at a high level The provision runs throughout the school day, with before-school clubs, curriculum coaching, lunchtime individual lessons and after-school sessions With a structured and inclusive approach, every pupil can enjoy, develop, and progress in tennis within their own school environment This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to active lifestyles, skill development, and a lasting enjoyment of sport across the school community
Pupils have a chance to try their hand at archery during every term, they can experience two different types of archery, sighted recurve and the more instinctive bearbow. No previous knowledge is required, we have all the equipment and expert coaches to help pupils try archery
When the archer is ready, we will encourage them to take part in external competitions against junior archers from other archery clubs. To date the school has had a high degree of success at competition level.
The senior school swimming pool is a wonderful resource and for Year 7 pupils they will spend one PE lesson a week developing their swimming skills As such an important life skill, being able to swim proficiently is a hugely important and we are keen to both develop basic swimming skills as well as develop our swimmers to a competitive level.
All pupils will have the chance to use the pool on Wednesday lunch time This will be an open lane swim, so it is very much aimed at pupils who wish to train and practice their strokes and fitness
Pupils will need to bring their own swimming costume, for girls, full body swim suits and for boys either trunks or shorts. Pupils will also need to have a swimming hat and goggles are advised as this is a chlorinated, heated outdoor pool. With changing rooms next to the pool, pupils will be able to change before and after the sessions.
The school’s golf team has been competing successfully for the past few years but now the aim is to expand both our provision and number of players Currently, we compete in Schools Golf and ISGA tournaments, where we have once again qualifi ed for the fi nal weekend
Our golf season tees off in autumn, pauses briefly in winter, and then swings back into action in spring for competitions. While our team may be small, our enthusiasm for golf knows no bounds. We’re thrilled to see more students embracing the sport, enriching our team with their talent and dedication. Together, we’re building a legacy of excellence on the course.
We take advantage of the beautiful Claremont Drive golf course for training sessions. Players of all ages are welcome to join us during lunchtime for practice rounds and friendly games Senior players also have the opportunity to compete in exclusive senior games
Claremont has a history of fencing and in recent years there has been an increased number of pupils coming to the school with a good level of experience and skill To support this, there are two fencing clubs per week during lunchtimes. These clubs are open to all, but have a cap on numbers of 12 pupils. In both Year 9 and 10 pupils may have the opportunity to take fencing as their sport in games lessons. The aim is for pupils to represent the school in a local competitions leading to regional and national events. Our coach represented Great Britain in her fencing career and currently coaches individuals to the very highest level Fencing is a wonderful opportunity for pupils to experience a different type of sport, but one that could lead all the way to the Olympics and with some of our pupils already qualifying for National competitions this year, who knows where their path will lead
Pupils attending fencing need to be in their PE kit, with tracksuit bottoms, which are compulsory. The equipment will be provided by school.
As sport at school becomes an ever larger part of pupils lives, preparing them properly for it must have a greater prominence Therefore, strength and conditioning sessions are currently run for our sports pupils from Year 7 through sixth form These are bespoke group sessions focused on developing physical attributes required for success in the individual’s sports Due to exams the fitness suite will be closed, however, fitness and S&C will continue. There will also be a select few open sessions but please see the cocurricular time table for information on when the sessions will be taking place.

Named and unnamed sports lost property boxes are located outside the Heads of House office Pupils are emailed weekly if a named item is in the PE lost property box to collect. Where we can, items are given to HOH / tutors to return to pupils directly. At the end of term, boxes and the sports centre are emptied. Any unnamed items not collected are given to charity
We use an external provider called Return2Play to aid in the management of head injuries and concussions. This allows parents to book an online appointment with a Doctor/Concussion Specialist who can diagnose concussion, advise on recovery & return to sport.
Referrals can be made by both school or parents if a child is suspected to have a concussion from sport or any other incident
