THE FRIENDS
A huge thank you to our wonderful Friends Team for organising three fantastic and successful events this term. The children thoroughly enjoyed a delicious cake sale, had great fun browsing and shopping at our “Good as New” book sale (thank you so much for your generous donations), and loved choosing a special flower at the Mother’s Day shop.
We are very grateful to all the parents who supported and helped make these events such a success.
Our lovely greenhouse has now been installed and is being used during our forest school and gardening sessions, to plant seedlings, in preparation for transferring to the raised beds in the garden. A BIG thank you to The Friends for enabling us to purchase such a wonderful addition to our outdoor learning provision. In addition, funding was also given for essential gardening equipment such as wheelbarrows, watering cans, compost and trowels – the children are loving the new greenhouse and all the new equipment.
Little chefs have christened one of the new ovens by making mini eggs brownies as an end of term/club treat! Nursery have christened the other new oven by making delicious and nutritious mini carrot cakes during their cooking time last week.
We LOVE our shiny new ovens are delighted with them –another thank you to our wonderful Friends for making our cooking dreams come true.
LAMDA EXAM MONDAY 23 MARCH
Well done to George, Dina and Oscar, who took their LAMDA Introductory Level 1 exam on Monday 23 March. We are incredibly proud of them, they have worked so hard and dedicated lots of time to practising.
They are also the very first Fan Court pupils to take LAMDA exams, making this a particularly special achievement!

TRIPS & WORKSHOPS
MIDNIGHT IN THE TOYSHOP!
YEAR 1 WORKSHOP – FRIDAY 6 MARC
On March 6, the children attended a Perform Workshop in school called ‘Mid Toy Museum,’ where they engaged in lots of dance and drama activities to rescue the toys from a terrible AI takeover. The leader was very engaging and had the children hooked with lots of music and movement.
RECEPTION DUCKLINGS
Reception have had a truly special and exciting experience this term, as we watched five adorable ducklings hatch and grow right before our eyes! The children loved caring for them, observing how they changed each day, and even watching them learn to swim.
Our five ducklings were called Ray, Splashy, Cheepy, Hoppy and the littlest duckling, Charlotte!
We hope the Reception children thoroughly enjoyed this memorable experience, and that all classes from Pre-Nursery to Year 2 loved having the opportunity to visit the ducklings, whether to gently play with them
or watch them swim.

PRE-NURSERY VISITING VEHICLES
11 MARCH
It was lovely to have the whole class together to experience our Visiting Vehicles on Wednesday 11 March! We were lucky enough to see two ride on mowers, a grounds gator, a stand on leaf blowerand even a minibus and a tractor! Our Grounds and Facilities
team spoke about and demonstrated some of the vehicles and how they work around the school. But the best part for the children was getting inside - having a go with the steering wheels, beeping horns and even putting on seat belts in the minibus! It all ended with an exciting drive past.
YEAR 1 MILESTONE MUSEUM TRIP
12 MARCH
On March 12, Year 1 were excited to go to Milestones Museum in Basingstoke. The excitement in the air was palpable as we embarked on our coach journey and when we were arrived, the children made themselves at home in the education rooms. After a quick snack, they joined in with some exciting workshops, such as I spy with old teddy bears and sorting old and new toys. They really enjoyed building creations out of old and new building materials (lego and wooden blocks) and working out which decade toys were from. There were many cries of “My Mum had this one!” when looking at the 1980s! We also played old fashioned games, such as hopscotch, skipping ropes, pick up sticks and tiddly-winks. After lunch, we explored the museum, with its cobbled streets and old-fashioned transport, homes and shops from different eras. The journey home was certainly quieter than the journey there with lots of tired and happy little Year Ones.

RECEPTION GODSTONE FARM TRIP
TUESDAY 17 MARCH
We had the BEST day at Godstone Farm! The children got to meet Hermione the beaded dragon and Misty the hen. We also got to see newborn lambs and kids! We were lucky with beautiful weather, and the children loved the huge playpark. All the adults were so impressed with how well Reception did, they really represented Claremont well and made us so proud!
