Well done to Rabbits and Squirrels Class for their wonderful class assembly about the Jungle. They incorporated facts, stories and songs that the children learnt this term as they explored the jungle. They all learnt their lines and performed with confidence. The children performed brilliantly and showcased all their hard work.
They are all super stars!
LAMDA EXAMS - SUMMER TERM

Well done to Dina and Sara, who took their LAMDA Introductory Level 1 or 2 exam on Friday 12 June. We are incredibly proud of them, they have worked so hard and dedicated lots of time to practising.

THE FRIENDS
Over the half term holidays a wonderful new addition was added to the Fan Court play area.
Thank you to the Friends who have purchased a large nest swing for the children to use.
The swing is excellent quality and will last us for years to come! Some children have already christened it by enjoying swinging about together with friends.
It is located in the forest school garden to the right of the Fan Court field if you would like to take a peek at it (next to our lovely greenhouse).
A huge thank you to the Friends of Claremont for their generous donation of a LEGO DUPLO Coding Express set and Remote Control Clever Cats for our EYFS learners. These fantastic resources are already making a real impact in computing lessons, helping children develop early programming, sequencing and problem-solving skills through hands-on play. The excitement and enthusiasm shown by the children has been wonderful to see, and we are incredibly grateful for the Friends' continued support in enriching learning opportunities across the school.

TRIPS & WORKSHOPS
YEAR 2 STABLE COURT SLEEPOVER
15-16 MAY
On Friday 15 May, the Year 2 children enjoyed a wonderful sleepover at Stable Court.
The evening began with the children setting up their beds before decorating name cards to mark out their sleeping spaces in the Stable Court Hall, with boys on one side and girls on the other.
Next, the children took part in a treasure hunt around the school grounds, working in groups to find and photograph a variety of items.
After returning, they practised a fire drill and were very sensible as they lined up in their classes in the Stable Court play area.
The children then made their way to the walled garden, where they gathered around the campfire to sing songs before enjoying hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows.
Later, everyone changed into their pyjamas, brushed their teeth and snuggled into their cosy sleeping bags, with their favourite soft toys close by. A film was shown, and the children soon settled down, feeling relaxed, sleepy and ready for a good night's sleep.
A huge thank you to Mrs Sitford and Mrs Palmer for organising such a wonderful experience for the children. We would also like to thank Miss Avery, Mrs McChesney, Miss Ray, Mrs Emerson and Mr Jelley for their support throughout the evening and overnight stay.

RECEPTION THE LOOK OUT DISCOVERY CENTRE TRIPS & WORKSHOPS
12 MAY
Reception had a brilliant time at The Lookout Centre in Bracknell. The children were able to explore hands on science activities in different zones including a space zone, light and colour zone, water zone and construction zone. The children had a great time and were able to explore different challenges working together as a team to solve them. In the afternoon the children navigated the outdoor trim trail which is longer than the one at school using their motor skills and core strength.
R 2 CHESSINGTON RLD OF ADVENTURES TRIP 18 MAY
Wow! As quoted by a Year 2 student “this is the best school trip ever”!! It really was - we all had so much fun. We rode Zufari and were so lucky to get right up close to giraffes and rhinos, as well as seeing zebras and gazelles. Next up was a first experience of Paw Patrol World where the children went on rollercoasters. For some children, this was their first ride, and I was so proud of them for facing their fears which certainly paid dividends for the afternoon! We packed in seastorm, the gruffalo ride, the galleon, blue barnacle and trawler trouble. The children definitely had stronger stomachs than me! We then had a workshop called “clawesome classification” where they had to interpret clues to identify a hidden animal. Next up was a walk through the interactive story of Room on the Broom, followed by a tour around the sea life centre. What an action packed day and SO much fun!
TRIPS & WORKSHOPS YEAR 1 WISLEY TRIP

THURSDAY 11 JUNE
Year 1 had a wonderful time at Wisley last Thursday. Despite the wet weather (thank goodness for puddle suits!), the children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the gardens. Highlights included sketching plants and flowers in the glasshouse, trekking up Lavender Hill, discovering more about plants in the Hilltop Centre, and spotting features such as the rockery.
Wisley staff led an informative workshop where the children learned about different types of plants and planted their own nasturtium seeds. They also took us on a windy woodland walk to search for seeds, buds and flowers. We even managed to fit in a visit to the natural play area before heading home.
A huge thank you to all our parent helpers who kept smiling despite the drizzle and helped make the day such a success!

MUSIC MAKERS CLUB TUESDAY 12 MAY
Well done to the Music Makers Club, who visited Loveday & Co Care Home in Esher on Tuesday 12 May. The children performed beautifully and sang with great enthusiasm and confidence. We are incredibly proud of them for representing the school so brilliantly and bringing joy to the residents with their wonderful performance.

Junior school was awash with creativity and colour on Friday 15 May as the children (and staff) wore their hair with flair - an event run through our wonderfully supportive Friends. I even got into the act myself, rewarding Fan Court House of the Week winners, Norwood, and our top fundraisers in Stable Court, Longcross, with access to hair colour spray and free rein to "flair me up"! The house Captains really went to town as you can see...

YEAR 1 FAMILY TEA TUESDAY 19 MAY
On Tuesday 19 May, we were delighted to welcome our Year 1 families to the Mansion’s Great Room for our annual Family Tea. This much-loved event is always a highlight of the school calendar, and this year was no exception.
Guests enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea of sandwiches, cakes and scones while the Year 1 children entertained everyone with their beautiful singing. It was a truly special occasion, and we were incredibly proud of how confidently and enthusiastically the children performed.
Following the tea, the children returned to Fan Court with their family members, where they proudly showed them around their classroom and presented them with a special gift of Claremont honey and a cress head.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the afternoon such a memorable occasion. We hope you enjoyed sharing this special experience with the children as much as we did.

ART EXHIBITION & ARTISTS DRESS UP DAY FRIDAY 22 MAY

We finished the final Friday of half term with a creative flourish at our Fan Court Arts Exhibition. Thank you so much to all the families who shared creative activities with their children, looked at sketch books and enjoyed celebrating the children’s work in our ‘pop up’ art gallery. The children looked fantastic in their artistic and mythical costumes and if you saw Mrs Dhanani’s interpretation of Vermeer’s Girl with the Pearl Earring, I am sure you would agree it was exceptional! The day was a lovely culmination to our Mythical Arts Week where the children studied the Painting by Cosimo Tura, ‘A Muse (Calliope?). The children learned about Greek culture, tasted food, danced and sang to music from Hercules, wrote creative sea pieces, visited Claremont Gardens to photograph sculptures and created some brilliant 3D and 2D art work. We really appreciated your support and enjoyed the opportunity to share the children’s learning with you. Please do try to visit the Stable Court Art Exhibition on Gala Day which is being organised by Miss Finn our junior school art and design teacher.

YEAR 1 ROYAL DAY
THURSDAY
4 JUNE
Introducing the Lords and Ladies of Year 1! On Thursday 4 June, Year 1 enjoyed a truly wonderful Royal Day as we worked towards our very own royal banquet. The children had great fun making royal biscuits and sandwiches, taking part in creative crafts and construction activities, and designing beautiful floral bunting. During Forest School, they even made wonderfully scented ointments using natural materials.
Throughout the week, we learnt and performed a variety of poems, including The Queen of Hearts. In History, we were delighted to be visited by Princess Charlotte, King Leopold and Prince Louis-Philippe, who all once lived at Claremont. We made delicious jam tarts and had a little picnic with them after sketching the mansion and its royal inhabitants.
It was a fantastic day from start to finish. Everyone looked amazing in their royal costumes, and the enthusiasm, creativity and effort shown by all the children made the day a great success!
RECEPTION PIRATE & MERMAID DAY
WEDNESDAY 10 JUNE
Ahoy there me hearties…our shipmates in Reception enjoyed a super fun day of activities to celebrate Pirate & Mermaid day. Whilst listening to sea shanties, the scallywags enjoyed octopus cupcake decorating, decorating mermaid tails and making pirate hats. In the afternoon, our crew rotated through four stations: a treasure hunt, water play, lollypop mermaids and making their own egg box treasure chests. They absolutely loved digging for the coins in the sand in the treasure hunt and being squirted by the pirates whilst walking the plank! They looked absolutely brilliant in their costumes, thank you so much for all your efforts.
