Year 1 – Tuesday 21 April
Year 2 – Wednesday 22 April
Reception – Tuesday 28 April
Nursery – Wednesday 29 April

Nursery had a fantastic opportunity to meet some very exciting an the ‘Animal Magic’ workshop.
They had a brilliant time meeting a bearded dragon called Sammy; macaw; two African hedgehogs named Sonic and Spikey Mike; th some guinea pigs (which we had the chance to feed crunch armadillo; Gregory the snake; and Phoebe the barn owl. They also unusual insects, including an African giant millipede, a Java fire-leg millipede, and an Australian stick insect.

The children were amazed to see all of these animals up close, and they took great care with each one holding and stroking them very gently.
It was wonderful to see the children listening with interest to new information about the animals and asking some excellent questions. It was brilliant to see the children (and the animals!) having such a lovely time… it really was magic!
What a wonderful time Reception had visiting Painshill Park. They had been invited to try out the new ‘den area’ which our school has sponsored. Badger and Hedgehog classes enjoyed using the large den frames to build their own dens using logs and branches. After, they were challenged with decorating their creations and making an inside space with logs. They enjoyed skipping through the flower meadows as different mini beasts and had great fun hunting for real ‘beasties’ in the forest school area. Thank you for asking us, Painshill!

06 MAY
Starlings and Robins had a lovely time exploring Claremont Gardens and were excited to use our secret gate to gain access. Their brief was to hunt for sculptures around the grounds and use iPads to take digital photographs of what they found. The children used the different camera functions to create wonderful pictures of their discoveries. Please do come and take a look at their work in the Charity Art exhibition in a couple of weeks.

Run, run as fast as you can ... to celebrate the annual London Marathon the Junior school created their own ‘mini marathon’ around our very own green triangle. The children were challenged to see how many times they could travel around the triangle in a given time frame. We are hoping this will be an annual event! Thank you to Mrs Marijnen and Mr Ferguson who spoke to the children beforehand to share their London marathon experiences and show their well-deserved medals – inspiring!!
5-8 MAY
An exciting and creative week was enjoyed by all the children in Fan Court. We started the week with an Arts assembly all about mythology and Greek art. Our focus painting, A Muse (Calliope) by Cosimo Tura has been such a wonderful stimulus for so much learning. Children have enjoyed a variety of activities such as creating mosaics, visiting Claremont Gardens, making Greek inspired cuisine, creating medusa head bands, Greek dancing and so much more! We are looking forward to our Charity Art exhibition on Friday 22 May to show all our families what we have been up to!
