STABLE COURT EVENTS
MUSIC CONCERT
On Tuesday 23 June, the heat wasn't the only thing soaring in Stable Court Hall. Music filled the air as the ensembles gave their end-of-year concert. The concert began with members of the Clarineo group performing their exam pieces before coming together to play Amazing Grace. The choir then took to the stage with renditions of A Disney Classics Medley, AVoice from a Dream, and their favourite rhythmic piece, Heartbeat Rhythm The choir has gone from strength to strength this year, and they sang beautifully in their final performance of the year.
The orchestra performed Now is the Month of Maying and Sonata, with enthusiastic audience participation The concert culminated in the orchestra and choir joining forces for the first time to perform Defying Gravity. This was a challenging piece, but they rose to the occasion and performed it brilliantly
I'm really looking forward to seeing what next year will bring!
Mrs Sitford
We were fortunate enough to be able to display a collection of artwork from across the year in the Stable Court Hall at the end of this term and on Gala Day. It was lovely to welcome everyone in to look at what we have been creating all year round. It was a real mix of work from mechanical fairground rides to dragon eyes to anime and mange portraits.
YEAR 6 CHARITY FAIR
A huge thank you to everyone for your incredible support during the Year 6 Charity Fair. It was truly delightful to see the children enjoying themselves while managing the stalls and participating in the activities. We raised nearly £2,000 for Home-Start Elmbridge, which is an outstanding accomplishment! The Year 6 pupils should take great pride in their efforts to create such successful stalls.
Thank you all!
MICHAEL’S ICE HOCKEY TOURNAMENT
Michael recently participated in an ice hockey tournament in Caen. Throughout the tournament, Michael gained valuable experience both on and off the field and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the trip. Most importantly, he returned home happy, confident, and full of enthusiasm.
ROYAL ACADEMY OF ART ACHIEVEMENT
Max F had his work accepted for display at The Royal Academy of Arts Young Artist show this summer. We wondered if he could be acknowledged for this incredible achievement. I have attached a photo for your marketing team. His painting is called “Breakfast” and this is how he explained why he painted it.
“I wanted to paint my favourite meal of the day. I thought a bowl of cereal would be a bit boring, and although I don’t eat eggs, they do look great! I love the colours that you see in yolk. I wanted to paint this with acrylic paints to show the shine that you see I really like making collages, so I thought I could paint on top of the paper and have both my favourite skills in one painting”
ANGUS WILLIS – 1ST CLAYGATE JUNIOR SCOUT BAND BRASS PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Angus also took part in a French Horn Flashmob in Berlin the other weekend with the horns of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra!
SENIOR SCHOOL ART
As part of the Art Week events, Year 6 spent one of their art lessons this summer term going to the senior school art department to take part in a workshop with Mrs Williams. They used specialist equipment and the printing press to create some effective mythical creature collagraph prints!
SPORTS AWARDS
The recent sports awards evening was a fantastic celebration of the dedication, talent and commitment shown across Fan Court, Stable Court, and the Senior School in Sport It was a truly memorable occasion, bringing together pupils, staff and parents in a positive and uplifting atmosphere that reflected the ethos of sport within our school. Throughout the evening, a wide range of awards highlighted performers of the year, most promising players and pupils who have contributed to school sport. Each sports awards event showcased not only success on the field or court, but highlighted the dedication, teamwork and resilience that underpin all participation in sport We would also like to extend our thanks to our guest speaker and Claremont alumni, Kate Staples, who was very inspiring and a great role model for pupils. Her speech and questions added great value to both events and certainly left a lasting impression on everyone who attended.
Another mention should go to sixth form students Ethan G and Emily I for the fantastic words to our Fan Court pupils who loved hearing about their Claremont journey through sport. Overall, the sports awards evening was a great success celebrating achievement, recognising effort, and inspiring continued participation and excellence in the year ahead
