FAN COURT EVENTS RECEPTION LITTLE CITY WORKSHOP THURSDAY 17 SEPTEMBER On Thursday 17 September, Hedgehogs and Badgers classes were visited by Maddie from Little City, and a fantastic time was had by all! After listening to a story about the little world they were about to enter, the children couldn’t wait to explore and discover. Whether taking on the role of a police officer or firefighter, serving delicious cakes to café customers, doing the food shopping or heading to work on a building site, they immersed themselves in the many wonderful locations and jobs available. Even the teachers joined in, enjoying appointments at the hairdressers and being served piping-hot cups of tea made just the way they liked them! We hope the Reception children were excited to tell you about their morning and that the experience inspired them to think about what they might like to be when they grow up.

YEAR 2 PARENT DROP-IN Thank you to all the parents who attended our Year 2 parent drop-in event on Wednesday 30 September. We hope you enjoyed spending time in the classroom - taking part in an activity with your child and looking at the amazing displays. It was lovely to see so many children with big smiles on their faces to show you our Owls and Kestrels class rooms! FAN COURT ROUND UP | 02.10.2026

FAN COURT EVENTS GARDENING WITH THE COMMUNITY EVENT TUESDAY 29 SEPTEMBER Tuesday 29 2026 September, we were delighted to welcome members of our community for a 13OnFebruary wonderful Gardening with the Community event in the Fan Court garden. We were very lucky with the weather, with the sun shining brightly as our gardeners got to work!

A group of children from Years 1, 2 and 3 enjoyed spending time in the garden, planting a beautiful selection of plants and helping to brighten up our outdoor space by creating such a wonderful sensory garden. It was fantastic to see the children getting stuck in and taking pride in caring for our school environment. We were also very fortunate to be joined by members of the Esher community, our Claremont alumni and the Esher Planters Club, who generously gave their time and support. It was a lovely opportunity for our children to connect with members of the wider community and work together to create something special. A massive thank you to Mrs Gough, Miss Bradford (Community & Alumni Officer) and Mrs Ennis for putting on such a wonderful event and for bringing our school and wider community together. We are so grateful for all your hard work and enthusiasm! We invite all parents to visit our beautiful garden.

PHONICS AND READING PARENT WORKSHOP

THURSDAY 1 OCTOBER

On Thursday 1 October, Mrs Ennis led our first Phonics and Reading Parent Workshop. A big thank you to all the parents who attended our afternoon session. We hope you enjoyed the workshop and found it useful in developing your understanding and providing you with an insight into how we teach phonics in school, as well as practical ideas and strategies to support children with their reading at home. If you were unable to attend the afternoon session, please do not worry! Mrs Ennis will be delivering the same workshop on Monday 2 November after drop-off in the Fan Court Hall. We hope to see you there and look forward to working together to support your child’s phonics and reading development. FAN COURT ROUND UP | 02.10.2026
