In A Simple Story, Jamie Perry continues to explore the imagery that is central to his visual vocabulary. We see a man lost in thought as he stares at an abstract painting, a woman standing in a driveway with a suitcase while her face lies just outside of the composition, and a lone farmhouse set on the prairie under a dramatic sky. Each piece is infused with the endless possibilities found in the vastness of everyday life. Perry leaves us a visual handle to hold onto and invites us to enter the piece not just as a viewer but also as a participant, filling in the details of the stories who’s framework he has built.
