Health & Safety during Alert Level 3 • New site entrance at 95 Mt Eden Road • Testing at the gate – temperature and health questionnaire
• Physical distancing on site. In cases where they’re within 2 metres, face masks are worn
• One operator per plant • Masks, sanitisers, gloves and hand wash located around the site
• PPE disposal bins around site • Break rooms designed for physical distancing • One person allowed in bathroom facilities at a time

North Auckland Line (NAL) Update Current priorities:
• Reschedule activities affected by lock-down to upcoming blocks of line (weekends when no trains run) • Complete installation of rail infrastructure to allow the first stage of Single Line Running (SLR) to commence in September 2020. • Commence construction of the grade separation structure at either end of the NAL works site to allow the second stage of SLR to commence in late 2021. • Commence utility diversions next month in areas adjacent to the rail corridor to allow retaining structures, foundations etc to be constructed. 4
Mt Eden Station area update Work to date:
• Building demolition almost complete (remainder of 28 Mt Eden Rd to be demolished 16/17 May)
• Completed utilities diversion for the tunnel portal
• Hoardings installed where possible. More to be installed along Ngahura, Ruru and Shaddock Sts once portal works are complete.
• Opened Flower St diversion and closed the sections of Ruru and Shaddock Sts that run through our site
• Completed portal piling platform • Completed the piles (the deepest and most technical ones) at top of portal site
• Started excavation to expose basalt for blasting • Started installing capping beam linking top of piles
Upcoming works:

Overview of Main Works The Main Works comprise: • Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations • Cut and cover tunnel construction • Changes to the level / grade and alignment of the existing North Auckland Line (NAL) to provide for the CRL tie-ins – requires extensive retaining • Construction of rail grade separation structures to allow for the tracks to pass under / over each other • Foundations for the new Mt Eden Station building and ventilation building – includes construction of a new CRL-line platform and redevelopment of the existing NAL-line platform • Construction of two pedestrian / cyclist bridges in the Porters Ave / Fenton St area • Installation of new track, drainage and utilities 7
East Facing Connection 1 (Khyber Pass to Normanby Road) • Trenching of existing rail corridor • Grade separation of the Normanby Rd rail crossing
• Realignment of the Normanby Road / Boston Road / Nugent Street roundabout • Diversion of utilities and construction of “temporary services” bridge (primarily provided for by the previous “Normanby Road Early Works” Outline Plan) 8

Construction Noise and Vibration Management Plan Construction Noise and Vibration Delivery Works Plan is a key management document. Its objective is to use the best practicable option to avoid, remedy or mitigate adverse effects.

Traffic, Access and Parking Management Plan
Mt Eden Train Station closure - Walking and cycling, bus facility improvements on New North Rd & Mt Eden Rd, New 640 bus service, more bus capacity on New North Rd.
Porters Ave rail crossing closure - Closed to vehicles. Pedestrian access maintained. Road network improvements - New traffic signals at New North Rd/Ngahura St, Mt Eden Rd/Normanby Rd, Mt Eden Rd/Enfield St, additional lane on Boston Rd (west of roundabout). Construction traffic activity - Avoid commuter peak hours where possible, use mainly arterial roads, over-dimension/overweight routes and motorway, manual traffic control at site access points, night works, monitoring of travel times on arterial roads

Measures for Property Access
• Maintain pedestrian access to properties at all times and on-going vehicle access to properties to the greatest extent possible. • Traffic management plans developed and consultation undertaken with impacted properties. • Traffic controllers on site to manage construction traffic, property access and general road traffic. TBM Announcement • City Rail Link’s Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) will share the name of one of New Zealand’s most inspirational leaders, Dame Whina Cooper. • Tunnelling tradition dictates a TBM cannot start work until it has been given a female name, a sign of good luck and safety for the project ahead. The tradition comes from the 1500s, when tunnellers, miners and people who worked underground looked to Saint Barbara, their patron saint, for protection. • The TBM is due to arrive in kitset sections from China in October. It will be reassembled at Mt Eden project site.
