Proposed work / project: Construction of the Mt Eden Station and station entrances and concourses, ventilation building, Fenton Street overbridge, street extensions and additional accesses, and streetscape reinstatement of the surrounding Mt Eden Station Precinct and parts of the wider Maungawhau Precinct. The reinstatement works include areas from Ngahura Street in the west to Nikau Street, Shaddock Street and Mt Eden Road in the east, including sections of and extensions to these streets, along with Flower Street, Korari Street and Ruru Street. The southern boundary of the precinct follows the northern edge of the NAL tracks and NAL platform, and the northern boundary generally aligns with Nikau Street. Additional areas included in the public realm reinstatement scope include the NAL platform and overpass, and the Eastern and Western Facing Connections at Fenton Street (including the Fenton Street Overbridge) and Normanby and Boston Roads, respectively. Within the streetscape, reinstatement will include paving and surfacing, lighting, signage and street furniture such as seating, bicycle parking and bins. Landscaping and tree planting in select locations is also included.
