• MHC welcomed everyone then introduced the meeting agenda. • Noted the meeting would be recorded for minute-taking purposes.

C1 Britomart/Lower Queen Street update – Andrew Swan and Jhon Aragon
• AS provided construction update (speaking to pictures in slide 3 of the presentation): - Construction is progressing well within the Chief Post Office (CPO) building - Minor Covid-19 related delays means the public opening of CPO pushed out until likely the end of March 2021 - Stainless steel canopies have been replaced in the front of the building by Te Komititanga, as well as the historic light columns and rebuilding the heritage canopy that had to be demolished before construction began - Rebuild of the column on the corner of the building complete •
CLG member asked if DSB would repair cracks on the back of the CPO building. AS said CRL will repair the base of the building where construction activity has caused chips and damage. In January 2021 Auckland Transport will scaffold the building for façade works – which includes a “deep clean”, crack repair and fixing up the windows. AS said the building will be shrink wrapped for about the first six months of 2021 for these façade works. He noted the cracks in the building’s façade were “legacy cracks” and had not appeared during CRL construction.

JA gave a streetscape update (speaking to pictures in slide 6, 7of the presentation): - Stormwater treatment plant at the north-west corner of the CPO installed. - An example of the unexpected nature of underground utilities (on the corner of Customs of Quay) which can impact the construction programme was provided - First Pōhutukawa planted in Lower Queen Street (LQS) in Sept 2020. CRL will look after these trees for the next three years before being handed over to Auckland Council.

CLG member asked about the trees that were stored at Mechanics Bay. AS said those trees belonged to the Downtown development, not CRL.

CLG member asked about rubbish bins and an apparent bus shelter being build outside the Endeans building. AS clarifies that the resident may have seen foundations for outdoor furniture, but CRL is not building a bus stop.

JA gave a streetscape update (speaking to pictures in slide 8, 9 and 10 of the presentation): - Photos show the whāriki pavement pattern from the roof of the CPO - Mentioned the below construction schedule with expected completion times.

CLG member asked about CPO opening times. AS stated the ground floor of the CPO would be reopened in late March 2021. Member then asked about when the Britomart Station’s temporary accommodation would be removed. AS stated the temporary building had been earmarked for removal but would now remain in place as a construction facility for Link Alliance C9 works – it wouldn’t be used for public access. AS said once the Link Alliance no longer requires the building, they would remove it and complete the urban realm works in the area. CLG member enquired about cracks in the Endeans plaza floor in the foyer. AS said CRL has been monitoring the situation and once they are happy there is no more movement, they will contract a tiler to complete the repair. CLG member mentioned the drop in their Endeans foyer floor also impacting the way the building’s security door locks. BS said DSBVJ would look at it once Tyler Street works had been completed.

C2 Albert St contract update – Jhon Aragon

JA provided update on C2: - All works complete - Some finishing works deferred (in red) are adjacent to private developments currently under construction. These will be completed by Auckland Council.

A completion event for C2 and LQS Te Komititanga will occur at the end of December, which would take place in the form of a dawn blessing.
•
KiwiRail’s Christmas block of lines will take place between 26 December 2020 to 10 January 2021 – to upgrade and fix tracks around the Auckland rail network.
•
Britomart Station is going to be closed until 18 January 2021. DSBJV will complete some work within Britomart Station when it’s closed during this time.
•
The C1 site will be closed between 23 December and 5 January 2021.
•
C5 Western Line connection and C7 Rail Systems contracts confirmed as large variation to C3 Main Works contract.
•
CLG member asked for tickets for the Boring Day Out – Maria made a note to save some tickets for those attending this meeting.
•
Around the Aotea Stations, there is going to be a switch in intersection closures in 2021. The Wellesley / Albert Street intersection which had been closed for the better part of 2020 would be reopened in Mid2021. At the same time, the Victoria / Albert Street intersection would close.
•
Construction at Karangahape and Mt Eden stations have switched from early works to mining.
