C2 Public Realm Reinstatement – Site Specific Construction Noise and Vibration Management Plan

Richard gave an overview of the related DWPs

Claire presented on the Site Specific Construction Noise and Vibration Management Plan

A CLG member asked if the work hours will always go to 10pm - Claire answered that the work hours were 7am to 7pm unless there were special circumstances where works needed to be undertaken outside of these hours

Ross asked what the noise barriers were - Claire answered that they were the flexible blue noise barriers

Ross expressed that it’s difficult in their location as they’re there during the day and night

David asked what the loudest activity has been so far - Claire answered that it was the hydro excavator - Chris added that different hydro vac companies have come in to test which option is quieter - Ross added that the concrete cutting has been quite loud - Carol advised that any specific noises will always be looked into - Richard added that these plans pertained to public realm reinstatement rather than current works

A CLG member asked which end this work was starting on - Claire answered that it would start from the southern end and go north

C2 Public Realm Reinstatement – Air Quality

Ross asked if the dust levels were going to get worse - Andrew answered that the activities that will be undertaken suggest that it won’t get any worse - Chris added that so far there have only been two spikes so far in dust levels and through dust monitoring there haven’t been any major issues around this

Ross Boswell asked if CRL had an agreement with building managers around washing windows - Carol answered that this was only the case for site specific agreements, however there are no general agreements. It is monitored

Ross Baxter advised that dust comes up from the trench and that their building needed to be cleaned as it’s quite dusty

Ross Boswell asked that if the dust isn’t coming from CRL then where else is it coming from - Andrew answered that the monitors show that regardless of CRL there is always a base level of 25-30 milligrams per cubic meter from cars and other movements typical for the city

Ross Baxter commented that the pavement at Wyndham and Swanson Streets needed to be cleaned more by Council more often

Ross Baxter advised that in the case of excessive noise that tenants may have to leave the building - Richard added that this was in extreme cases only and that the works have limitations in place so that this isn’t required
