Carol opened the meeting and everyone introduced themselves

C1 – Groundwater & Settlement Monitoring & contingency Plan (GSMCP)

Neil presented on the GSMCP for C1

Dale mentioned that the buildings tend to move slightly due to temperature and seasonal changes - Paul asked if this was the ground level moving or expansion of the actual building - Dale answered that it was movement with the actual building

Paul asked if the alarms could be set off by an 8mm movement - Dale confirmed this and advised that in the past nine months when this has been exceeded that works would be stopped and the alert would be assessed. Since then it has been discovered that changes in temperature and seasonal changes have had an effect on these triggers - Ross asked if movements outside of the project could be picked up

Dale answered that he couldn’t comment for C2, but for C1, movements outside of C1 have been picked up Ross asked if this meant it can’t always be identified Dale answered that when the limit has been exceeded, works are stopped and there is an investigation of the source of the exceedance

Ross asked if the project was tracking to the programme as at May 2018 - Dale answered that C1 was tracking along nicely - Carol answered that C2 was slightly behind

Paul commented that CRL has put in a great effort to engage with the community and keep them informed - Carol thanked Paul for his comment
