Now that 350m of City Rail Link train tunnels have been built under Albert Street, we’ve started working on renewal at street level – upgrading it from the ground up before it’s given back to communities.

When returned, Albert Street will have wider paved footpaths, bus lanes and bus bays, native trees, new street furniture and resurfaced roads. City Rail Link and its contractor Connectus are also replacing and futureproofing underground utilities including stormwater, sewage pipes, power and internet. We’re rebuilding Albert Street block by block from Wyndham to Customs Street in order to speed up works and minimise the impact of construction for communities and businesses.
