The library’s community-supported food pantry is located in the library foyer and is available when the library is open During the cold-weather months donated coats, hats, gloves, boots, and socks are available next to the pantry All are welcome to take what they need to keep themselves and their family warm and fed. WOODSTOCK TYPEWRITER TRAIL

In the early 1900s, Woodstock was a global leader in manufacturing, producing nearly half of the world’s typewriters at its peak. The arrival of the Oliver Typewriter Company in 1896 transformed the city into an industrial powerhouse and introduced groundbreaking innovations like visible writing.
Guests can explore historic typewriters on display at the library and throughout the city as part of the new Typewriter Trail, discovering the stories behind these iconic machines while entering for a chance to win a grand prize. After careful consideration, the City of Woodstock has made the difficult decision to cancel Witches & Wizards of Woodstock 2026. Due to current staffing limitations and organizational priorities, we are unable to dedicate the resources needed to deliver the high-quality event our community has come to expect We know this event has become a favorite tradition for many families and visitors. We are hopeful that Witches & Wizards of Woodstock will return in the future when we have the resources to deliver the magical experience our community deserves Thank you for your understanding and for being part of what makes Woodstock such a special place We look forward to seeing you at our many other events this fall.

Visit the library and register for our Winter Reading Bingo Challenge This year, the library is challenging our young readers to complete a Bingo card and earn digital badges over winter break These badges are earned by reading in 1-hour increments and doing fun activities at home For every badge earned, participants will receive 1 virtual raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize This year’s theme is “Winter Wildlife ”

Each participant will have the chance to earn up to 25 tickets over the course of the challenge Participants will be split into three groups: early readers ages 0-5, elementary readers ages 6-12, and teen readers ages 13-18. GETTING A WODSTOCK LIBRARY CARD
City of Woodstock Residents and Rural Woodstock Public Library District Residents above the age of five qualify for a full-service Woodstock Library card at no cost This card allows the cardholder to check out up to 50 items, borrow materials from other libraries, and full access to digital services Children ages 5-14 years old must apply for the library card with their parent/guardian present. The parent/guardian will be required to present photo identification and proof of address.
