Dredging, sand placement wraps up The City’s Beach Renourishment project, renourishing approximately 3.2 miles of critically eroded shoreline, is nearing completion. Dredging and sand placement concluded on Aug. 16. Contractor Weeks Marine Inc. stated they placed nearly 620,000 cubic yards of sand on the beach in total. All public beaches are open with the exception of the Brohard Paw Park beach area. The fenced-in dog area remains open. The project area extended from south of the Venice Inlet to South Brohard Park.
