Spring 2024

Mayors Corner

Spring is here and we began by celebrating the second year of Spread Goodness Day on March 8th. Activities were held at the Stoughton Area Senior Center, the Stoughton Area School District and throughout our community. The second apartment building on the east side of Highway 51 will be constructed in 2024. Condominiums, duplexes and single family homes are under way on the west side of Highway 51. Several single family homes in Kettle Park West (KPW) Phase 2 and the last of the Nordic Ridge homes will be completed this year. Construction of 118 single family homes and duplexes in Magnolia Springs will begin soon. A four building, 96 multi-family apartment complex is approved behind the Tru by Hilton hotel. We are under contract with Curt Brink to build condominiums along the riverfront. Stoughton Trailers Corporate (STI) Headquarters site plan is approved. The Mandt Park Master Plan Phase 1 improvements will begin after the Stoughton Fair this year. The park will have additional parking, restrooms, a wider circulation road and a new trail extending along the river. Additional river features anticipated near Mandt Park will include; a boulder structure, riverbank improvements and a deflector on the downstream on south side of the river, similar to the improvements that been completed on the north side. A trail study for additional connections through the downtown will be completed as well. Several businesses have/will be building, opening, moving, or expanding including: Dispensary Near Me, Kozy Nuk Cafe, Stoughton Center for the Arts, Virtual Foundry, Dane Dental, Sostre Skincare, Face the Moon Studio, Ilume Aesthetics, Xpress Car Wash, Popeye’s, Locos Casa Club, Anytime Fitness, T-Mobile, Indian Curry House, Cousins Subs, Tropic Treats Acai and a name change from McFarland Investment Center to Journey Financial Partners Other notable accomplishments include: • Creation of TIF #10 and # 11 • STI Developers agreement approved • Parking Ordinance changes • Habitat for Humanity project approved
