Paramount Park Middle School Principal and Staff Honored Superintendent Pérez and the Board of Education recognized Paramount Park Middle School Principal Kevin Longworth and Yolanda Cuevas, School Health Office Technician for their heroic efforts in coming to the aid of a parent of a student who was in need of life saving measures the morning of April 23, 2018 at Paramount Park Middle School. Due to the emergency services they provided, the mother of the student is alive and recovering. Superintendent Pérez and the Board of Education presented both Kevin and Yolanda with a crystal bowl engraved with a message that read “Educating and Saving Lives”. Paramount High School and Buena Vista High School Students Participate In Rotary Roundtable Discussions Imagine a sea of teenagers passionately engaged in conversations on the latest current events—this was the scene at the annual Rotary Roundtable Discussions. This year, we had over 75 students from ninth through twelfth grade participating in the PHS gym. Students were arranged with five per table with each group rotating to another table every 15 minutes. Joining the District in sponsoring this event were the Paramount Rotary Club and AltAir Fuels who also provide the monetary prizes.

Estudiantes de la Escuela Preparatoria de Paramount y Escuela Preparatoria Buena Vista Participan en Discusiones de Mesa Redonda de Rotary Imagínese un mar de adolescentes envueltos apasionadamente en conversaciones sobre los últimos acontecimientos actuales—este fue el escenario en las discusiones de mesa redonda anual de Rotary. The Board of Education and Superintendent Dr. Pérez recognized Paramount High School seniors Karla Navarro, Alexis Armando Torres and Fernanda Corona at a recent Board of Education meeting. Karla and Alexis are two of just 300 students across the U.S. to receive the all-expense-paid Gates Millennium Scholarship, which is a tremendous honor for
them, as well as for our District. Paramount High senior Fernanda Corona was a recipient of the Edison STEM scholarship, an accomplishment that will fuel her pursuit of biomedical engineering. Karla, Alexis and Fernanda received Certificates of Recognition from the Board of Education, Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard and Assemblymember Anthony Rendon.
