2017 PHS Co-Valedictorian: Arlene Aleman Arlene attended Hollydale for elementary and middle school. At PHS she was involved with Corsairs where she served her community by volunteering for the Thanksgiving brunch and reading to elementary student at Writz Elementary. In addition, she also volunteered her time in the summer assisting the Mokler summer food program, as well as, assisted her dance instructor lead classes to younger children. She was on the Paramount High School swim team for four years, where she served as Captain for the last two years. She was accepted to CSU Long Beach, CSU Fullerton, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cal Poly Pomona, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UC Berkeley, UCLA and Stanford. She has decided to attend Stanford in the fall - where as a Cardinal- she will major in Physics. Her passion in sci-

ence was always present, but it flourished once she took her AP Physics class. Her
ultimate goal is to enter the world of scientific research in Theoretical Physics.
Arlene asistió a Hollydale durante la primaria y secundaria. En PHS ella estuvo involucrada con Corsairs donde ella sirvió a su comunidad como voluntaria en el desayuno del Día de Gracias y leyendo para los estudiantes de la primaria Wirtz. Aparte, ella también ofreció su tiempo durante el verano asistiendo al programa de comida del verano de la escuela Mokler, así como también ayudo a su instructor de baile dirigir la clase para los niños más pequeños. Ella era parte del equipo de natación de la Preparatoria Paramount por cuatro años, donde se desempeñó como capitán durante los últimos dos años. Ella fue aceptada a CSU Long Beach, CSU Fullerton, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cal Poly Pomona, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UC Berkeley, UCLA y Stanford. Ella decidió asistir a Stanford en el otoño - como una Cardinal –ella se especializará en La Física. Su pasión en las ciencias estuvo siempre presente, pero floreció una vez que tomo la clase de Física AP. Su meta final es entrar al mundo de la investigación científica en Física Teórica.
2017 PHS Co-Valedictorian: Jesus Salazar 2017 PHS Co-Valedictorian: Jesus Salazar Él empezó su recorrido en Wesley Gaines, asistió a Leona Jackson durante la secundaria y luego a la Preparatoria Paramount. Él actualmente es el entrenador de fútbol y tutor en la primaria Lincoln a través del programa de STAR. En PHS él estuvo involucrado en MESA, Club Verde, y jugo Varsity fútbol por los últimos cuatro años.
He started his Paramount journey at Wesley Gaines, attended middle school at Leona Jackson and then Paramount High School. He is currently a soccer coach and tutor for Lincoln Elementary through
the STAR Program. At PHS he was involved with MESA, Green Club, Class of 2017 and played Varsity Soccer for the past four years. He was captain of our Varsity Soccer team for the past two years and with his
leadership, dedication and determination, he led our soccer team to win the Division I State Championship this year. He was accepted to UC San Diego, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cal State University Long Beach, Northern Arizona University and Arizona State University. He has decided to attend UC San Diego in the fall - where as a Triton he plans to double major in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace engineering, as well as acquire a minor in Business as a Regent Scholar.
Él fue el capitán del equipo de Varsity Fútbol por los últimos dos años y con su liderazgo, dedicación y determinación, él llevó al equipo de fútbol al ganar el Campeonato Estatal de División I este año. Él fue aceptado a UC San Diego, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cal
State University Long Beach, Northern Arizona University y Arizona State University. Él ha decidido asistir a UC San Diego en el otoño - como un Triton planea graduarse con dos especialidades en Ingeniería Mecánica e Ingeniería Aeroespacial, aparte con una especialidad de Negocios como un Erudito de Regentes.
