PHS Fall Sports As the fall sports season wind down at Paramount High School, the Pirates are proud of all their accomplishments. This season saw four teams qualify for the CIF playoffs. In girls’ sports our tennis, volleyball and cross country teams had an excellent year and participated in post season play. In boys’ sports, our football and cross country teams moved on to post season play. Our girls volleyball team finished the season 14-11 and 7-3 in the tough San Gabriel Valley League. They were beaten by Monrovia in the playoffs. For the first time in many years, one of our players received a full ride athletic scholarship. Cianna Andrews will sign a national letter of intent in November to continue her education and play volleyball at Sacramento State. Congratulations to Cianna. The entire Pirate family is proud of her. In girls tennis the lady Pirates finished in third place, a great improvement from the previous year. They were defeated by Mark Keppel in the first round of the playoffs. In cross country our girls finished in third place and in next month’s article we will report how they did in the CIF Championships. In boys water polo the Pirates finished their season with an overall record of 9-11. With many starters returning to next year’s team we should see a playoff contender in the pool. Our boys cross country team finished in second place and set a school record for best times by a team at Paramount High School. In our next article we will report how they did at the CIF Championships. In football, the pirates are in the midst of one of the best seasons in recent years. Led by the running of Al Gene Fisher III and a great defense the Pirates were in the hunt for a league championship. Having already qualified for
the playoffs the next article will give you a final post on how well the team did in the playoffs. With fall seasons coming to an end the winter seasons are gearing up for an exciting end to 2016 and a great beginning to 2017. In boys sports we will have basketball, soccer, and wrestling and in girls sports we will
have water polo, wrestling, basketball and soccer. Results of the start of these seasons will be featured in the next article. On behalf of the entire Pirate family we invite the community to come out and support our athletic teams. We believe that our product is fun and entertaining to watch. GO PIRATES!!!!!

Deportes de otoño A medida que la temporada de deportes de otoño termina en la Escuela Paramount High, los piratas están orgullosos de sus logros. Durante esta temporada vimos a cuatro equipos calificar en las finales de CIF. En los equipos de las chicas de tenis, voleibol y campo traviesa mostraron un excelente año y participaron en el juego de postemporada. En los deportes de varones, nuestros equipos de futbol y campo traviesa continúan en los partidos de postemporada. Nuestro equipo de chicas termino la temporada 14 a 11 y 7 a 3 en la difícil liga del Valle de San Gabriel. Fueron vencidas en las finales por el equipo de Monrovia. Por primera vez en muchos años, una de nuestras jugadoras recibió una beca completa para la universidad. Cianna Andrews firmará su carta nacional en noviembre para continuar su educación y jugar voleibol en la Universidad de Sacramento. Felicidades a Cianna. Toda la familia de piratas estamos orgullosos de ella. En el tenis, las chicas piratas terminaron en tercer lugar, un gran crecimiento comparado con el año pasado. Ellas fueron vencidas por Mark Keppel en la primera ronda de juegos finales. En campo traviesa, las chicas terminaron en tercer lugar, comentaremos los resultados de los juegos de campeonato de CIF en nuestro siguiente artículo. El equipo de polo acuático de varones termino la temporada con una
puntuación total de 9-11. Con varios titulares que regresaran al equipo el próximo ano, podríamos ver a nuestros guerreros en la piscina durante los juegos finales. Nuestro equipo de campo traviesa de varones termino en segundo lugar y estableció un record de mejor tiempo por un equipo en la Escuela Paramount High. En nuestro próximo artículo, informaremos sobre los resultados del campeonato de CIF. En futbol, los piratas están en medio de una de sus mejores temporadas de los últimos años. Guiados por Al Gene Fisher III y su gran defensa, los Piratas están en la búsqueda del campeonato de la liga. Al haber calificado para los juegos finales, el siguiente articulo tendrá información del desarrollo del equipo durante los partidos finales. Con la temporada de otoño llegando a su fin y la de invierno en preparación, nuestros equipos se preparan para un excitante fin del 2016 y un gran comienzo del 2017. En los deportes de varones, tendremos un equipo de basquetbol, soccer y luchas. Y con las chicas tendremos polo acuático, luchas, basquetbol y soccer. Los resultados de esta temporada y el comienzo de la siguiente serán presentados en nuestra próxima edición. De parte de nuestra familia de Piratas, invitamos a toda la comunidad a venir a apoyar a nuestros equipos. Creemos que nuestros partidos y competencias son divertidas y entretienen al espectador. ¡VAMOS PIRATAS!
