fter all the dismal months of social distancing because pandemic—which of the pandemic included cancellation of our tournament—it 2020 golf tournament was both a relief and a delight to see the 117 golfers who came out on May 17 to support the Paramount Chamber of Commerce at our Annual Golf Classic, held this year at the Los Coyotes Country Club in Buena Park. This tournament is the Chamber’s biggest fundraiser each year, and we’re very grateful for the participation of all those who enjoyed playing golf, eating excellent food, winning prizes and, perhaps best of all, sharing some muchmissed camaraderie. We especially thank Carlton Forge Works, our returning major sponsor, and our other generous sponsors shown on page 4, as well as our invaluable vendors and volunteers who helped make this event such a success. Funds raised from the Golf Classic will make Chamber of Commerce memberships more affordable to local businesses and will help the Chamber keep providing so many valuable services—including our Business Resource Center, free business counseling at the Chamber Office by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the Pulse Beat, our local Business Directory, access to referrals and numerous networking and educational events each year. A portion of event proceeds will go to Paramount Education Partnership to sponsor scholarships for continuing education for local students. Please see additional information and photos on page 4.
