One of the highly anticipated moments of the ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival takes place months before the moment thousands of art lovers amass in mid-February. The selection of the poster artist and commissioning of the poster artwork happens behind the scenes, and the

big reveal creates a buzz around the upcoming festival. Often, the poster art sets a tone for the message that ArtiGras hopes to send to its community of loyal followers.
This year is no different and, although the big poster reveal has not happened at the time of printing this publication, the selection of the poster artist has been made public. For ArtiGras 2026, the chosen poster is abstract fluid artist Molly Leach. Based in West Palm Beach, Molly works in her garage studio donning gloves, layering paints and experimenting with reactive additives. If this description conjures up the image of a modern-day alchemist, you’re not far off. Before becoming an artist, she built a career as a psychiatric pharmacist. She’s been painting for years and honed her abstract art style through a creative process that is as much about the chemical reactions happening with materials as it is about inspiration. That background in science is not incidental; it’s foundational. Molly approaches each canvas with the curiosity of a researcher, carefully observing how materials behave, how gravity and viscosity influence movement and how timing can determine the final composition. While the process allows for spontaneity, it is guided by knowledge, patience and an understanding of cause and effect.
“There's a lot chemistry and a lot of physics involved in making these types of paintings,” she explains. “If I'm doing the swipe that you see in the ArtiGras painting, that involves a chemical that is imported from Australia and gloss medium to interact with that ingredient, so that they create those cells and lacing that you see in the piece.”
To create the vibrant, fluid art pieces that have become her trademark, she uses various tools such as a palette knife, blow dryer or even a blow torch to manipulate the layers of paint that are strategically poured onto the canvas. Watching Molly work is a study in motion and restraint. Each tool serves a purpose. She uses them to direct flow, create negative space or activate reactions beneath the surface. The result is a painting that feels alive, as though it is still unfolding long after the paint has dried. “Sometimes it could just be pouring it out of the cup onto the canvas, and it's the way that you layer it in the cup and the way that you pour it out that creates the design”, says Molly. Abstract art is sometimes dismissed as not “real art” or interpreted as lacking skill. However, abstract art requires foundational art elements and an understanding of color, composition and emotion. Although finished pieces can appear random, one needs only to watch Molly perform her process and explain in detail how she garners the desired results to gain a new appreciation for the fascinating artwork. She has displayed this style at ArtiGras each year since 2018 when she exhibited as part of the Emerging Artist Program. While working full-time as a pharmacist, she was initially drawn to the fluid art medium in search of a creative escape. The balance between structure and freedom mirrors her own journey into the art world. In March of this year, Molly made the decision to step away from pharmacy and focus her career efforts on art full-time. “I didn’t really do too much creative for quite some time. Almost ten years, I would say,” recalls Molly. “I worked in mental health. I decided, when we bought this new house that I would make the artwork for the walls myself, instead of purchasing it.” As she’s honed her skills, she has added teaching and reaching an audience through her YouTube channel to her repertoire. Her sense of curiosity and continual learning is what makes her work such a fitting visual ambassador for ArtiGras. As a festival that celebrates artistic excellence while remaining accessible and engaging, ArtiGras thrives on artists who invite viewers to look closer, linger longer and discover something new each time.
“It's constantly changing, and I'm constantly learning as well. And so that's what I like about my profession, as well as this art,” Molly shares. “It gives me kind of the best of both worlds. And that's why I've stuck with it this many years. That's why I enjoy it so much.”
THE TEXTURE
Special Experiences Beyond the canvas and color, ArtiGras comes alive through texture. The experiences that add dimension and energy to the festival invite guests to interact with art in unexpected ways. Not to mention the engagement with the local community. In the past ten years, ArtiGras has raised over $300,000 for youth art education and local charities. The Palm Beach North Education Foundation Youth Art Competition has also been a vital showcase for the art created by local public and private school children from kindergarten to 12th grade. ocated at the east Valet near The Cheesecake Factory at 11800 Lake Victoria Gardens Avenue, Palace by artist Rob Ward makes a strong first impression while maintaining a calm, welcoming presence. The 15-foot-tall stainless steel sculptural fountain is set within a 30-foot-wide circular pool finished with dark plaster, which deepens reflections and creates the illusion that the sculpture is floating on water. Water is gently pumped from the pool through a small pipe to a cone at the top of the sculpture, where it flows softly over the stainlesssteel surface. The steady movement of water adds a sense of life and motion without overpowering the form itself. Lighting placed around the edge of the pool highlights the sculpture after dark, creating subtle reflections on both the metal and the water below. Surrounding landscaping also frames the fountain while keeping clear sightlines, allowing the artwork to be viewed from all angles. Rob Ward is known for creating large-scale stainless-steel works that combine clean lines with carefully engineered water systems. His sculptures often explore balance, movement and reflection, using water to change how the artwork is experienced throughout the day. In Palace, Ward’s attention to detail and control of materials results in a piece that feels both striking and serene.

Plum Market Another grocery store is opening its doors in our City. Plum Market is setting up shop in Prosperity Centre, taking over the space that formerly belonged to Bed Bath & Beyond. The 30,000 square foot grocery store will employ 150 team members. It will sell all natural, organic and locally sourced products as well as offering freshly made sushi, a salad bar, hot entrees, side dishes, sandwiches and more. This will be Plum Market’s second Florida location. It is expected to open in Spring 2026. Street Address: 2410 PGA Boulevard
Sloan’s A familiar dessert option is coming back to Palm Beach Gardens. Sloan’s is now under construction in Alton Town Center near the fountain water wall and pedestrian plaza. City Council Adopts Vision Zero Action Plan to Advance Traffic Safety BY JOANN SKARIA, ASSISTANT PLANNING & ZONING DIRECTOR
On November 6, 2025, the Palm Beach Gardens City Council formally approved the City’s Vision Zero Action Plan, also known as a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan. The adoption marks a significant milestone in the City’s ongoing efforts to reduce traffic-related serious injuries and fatalities.
Input was also provided by partner agencies such as the Palm Beach Metropolitan Planning Organization, Florida Department of Transportation District 4, and Palm Beach County.
Vision Zero is an international transportation planning philosophy grounded in the belief that while traffic crashes may be inevitable, serious injuries and loss of life are not. The initiative has been embraced by the U.S. Department of Transportation, Florida Department of Transportation, and Palm Beach County, and emphasizes that trafficrelated fatalities and serious injuries are preventable through a safe systems approach that accounts for roadway design, speeds, vehicles, and human behavior. YEARS IN THE MAKING Palm Beach Gardens has been working toward Vision Zero principles since March 2020. Early efforts included convening a cross-departmental staff committee and providing hands-on safety education through a “pop-up” Traffic Garden featured at the City’s annual Public Safety Day events in 2024 and 2025. The City Council further reinforced its commitment in June 2024 with the adoption of Resolution 36, 2024, formally supporting Vision Zero. GRANT-FUNDED PLANNING EFFORT Development of the Vision Zero Action Plan was funded through a competitive U.S. Department of Transportation / Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Safe Streets for All (SS4A) transportation planning discretionary grant. The City applied for and was awarded the grant in late 2023, providing an opportunity to consolidate, formalize, and build upon existing safety efforts. An agreement with FHWA was executed in June 2024. Through the City’s competitive procurement process, Kimley-Horn and Associates was selected in November 2024 to assist with plan development. An internal project kick-off meeting was held in December 2024, followed by a public kick-off at the City’s January 2024 Public Safety Day event, which also launched a public input survey. The majority of the plan’s development occurred throughout 2025. COLLABORATION ACROSS DEPARTMENTS + AGENCIES The Vision Zero Action Plan was developed collaboratively across multiple City departments, including Police, Fire, Engineering, Public Works/Community Services, Recreation/Leisure Services, GIS, Administration, Public Communications, and Planning and Zoning.
Palm Beach County was also awarded an SS4A grant, and City staff have participated as stakeholders in the County’s ongoing plan development. Several neighboring municipalities, including Wellington, Delray Beach, and Boca Raton, are also pursuing comprehensive safety plans through the SS4A program. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT Public input was an important part of the planning process. The public input survey included an interactive map that allowed community members to give feedback on specific roadways. A series of public meetings were held in March 2025 at locations including the Palm Beach Gardens GreenMarket, the Gardens Branch Library, and City Hall. A draft plan presentation and public input open house were later hosted at the City’s Burns Road Community Center in August 2025. CLEAR GOALS + NEXT STEPS Data analysis revealed that 86 percent of the City’s most severe crashes occur on roadways owned by external agencies, primarily Palm Beach County and the Florida Department of Transportation. The adopted plan establishes two primary safety targets: • By 2030: Eliminate all serious injury and fatal crashes on City-owned roadways. • By 2040: Eliminate all serious injury and fatal crashes citywide. 3 Key Strategies • Redesign streets to naturally slow traffic. • Increase enforcement of traffic laws. • Expand community education to build a culture of safety. To advance these goals, the plan outlines a range of multi-faceted strategies, referred to as countermeasures. These include continuing to leverage grant funding for transportation, mobility, and safety improvements, as well as launching public awareness and education campaigns focused on traffic safety. With the adoption of the Vision Zero Action Plan, Palm Beach Gardens has established a data-driven framework to guide future safety efforts and coordination, reinforcing the City’s commitment to reducing serious injuries and saving lives on its roadways.
