The 2026 City Election is coming up on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, and if you’re considering serving your community, now is the time to start preparing!
Candidate election packets are available for pick-up beginning in March at the City Clerk’s Office We encourage prospective candidates to review materials early and plan ahead for the qualifying period.
To Qualify, You Must:
• Be a qualified elector
• Have lived within the incorporated City limits for at least one consecutive year immediately prior to the time for qualifying
• Submit all qualifying paperwork to the City Clerk no later than the qualifying period
2026 Qualifying Period:
August 3, 2026 – Noon on August 7, 2026
(During normal business hours in the City Clerk’s Office)

• Council Member, Group 2
• Council Member, Group 3

FromApril 12 to May 23, the left-turn lane and the left northbound lane on Oviedo Mall Blvd will be closed nightly from 7:00 PM to 6:00AM.The right lane will remain open to traffic.
Additionally, fromApril 12 to May 23, the left-turn lane and the left eastbound lane on Dovera Drive will be closed nightly from 7:00 PM to 6:00AM.The right lane will remain open to traffic.
These lane closures are necessary for road restriping, installation of new blinking stop signs, and the removal of mast arms at the intersection.
Please follow all posted signage and drive with caution if traveling in the area to ensure the safety of workers and vehicular traffic.

Summer will be here before you know it and we encourage anyone who has a pool or lives near a body of water to install door alarms if there are any children in the home. On March 25, Fire Chief Michael Woodward presented a Unit CitationAward for Battalion Chief Raul Nin, Lt. Chris Daily, Lt. Mike Radzak, Engineers Danny Forrest, and Jeff Pirkola, Firefighters Mike Stroh, Chase Bennett, Cameron Isler,AustinTurja and Ethan Loor.
On December 28, 2025, Station 46 crews responded to Froggers for a cardiac arrest patient. Upon arrival, the patient was confirmed in cardiac arrest. Due to the quick, direct and cohesive efforts of all crew members, the patient was revived and transported to a local hospital.
It is not too often we see patients survive active cardiac arrest, but when our highly trained crews arrive, know their responsibilities, and go right to work, the outcome can be significantly improved. Well done!!
Officer Roberts hails from Tampa but moved to Orlando about four years ago. He enjoys spending time with friends at the local theme parks and volunteering for his church. Officer Sawyer hails from Central Florida and grew up fishing and playing baseball. He loves spending time with his son and family while enjoying the great outdoors
Officer Sawyer was pinned by a colleague who attended the police academy with him and Officer Roberts was pinned by his father.
The ceremony was attended by fellow officers, family members, friends, police command staff, and city employees
On March 27, Detectives Warren and Salemi were at Riverside Recreation talking to seniors about fraud and scams, and how they can prevent themselves from becoming victims. It was a great discussion to have with them, telling them what to avoid and giving examples of how easily scammers can drain a bank account. The City of Oviedo has two public pools available for anyone to use either to join group classes, swim lessons, or personal fitness.
