NLR Community Garden Newsletter

1st Edition

Got a Green Thumb? Looking to start or maintain a community garden in NLR? The NLR Community Garden Program offers seasonal funding each spring and fall to help new and existing gardens thrive. Existing gardens can apply for up to $5,000 annually to cover materials, tools, and expenses. New gardens receive up to $1,500 in their first year to help them get started. Our program focuses on helping each garden manager provide fresh, nutritious, locally grown food to their community. In addition to funding, participating gardens benefit from free soil, mulch, compost, seeds, seedlings, plants, educational resources, hands-on assistance, and social media promotion. Applications are reviewed twice a year by the Garden Advisory Committee. Don’t miss this chance to grow and give back to your community! Funding Dates: Spring 2025 - Application due Dec 15, 2024 Fall 2025 - Application due June 15, 2025

Seasonal Funding Applications can be found on our website here nlr.ar.gov/communitygardens
